thinking about buying a new putter...looking at the new 2 ball metal x...has anyone got one? are they any good? thanks

What's wrong with the current putter. Is it not user error. Are you missing a lot of short putts or having distance control issues. Surely a putting lesson is a cheaper option initially to make sure the fundamentals are correct. Of course you could ask Bob if he has any sort of device that could help.

I've hit the Metal X in a couple of pro shops and love the firmer feel. I've been toying with the protype milled face version, particularly the #9 version

No, and...um...no.

I don't know how anyone putts with an off the shelf Odyssey. Too long and too flat, perfect for fat Americans.

Get a Taylor Made Raylor Ghost Putter, better for aiming.

If you are addicted to Odyssey, get the Odyssey White Ice 2 Ball Lined Putter in 34".

What putter do you have now and what problems are you having.

Please take it from me, going through several putters is not the answer. I've had 5 putters this year alone and keep coming back to my md drew Connemara putter.

I wanted a premium branded putter and tried blades, mallets, combinations and even a bullseye crazy golf style putter.

Time on the putting greens both in a practice session and pre-round will work wonders. I never tee off without 20 mins on the practice greens as it gives me some feel for how the greens are playing

The issue is the Royal Ascot greens are pretty slow and with the insert in the White Ice I need to hit it hard to get it top the hole and I prefer more of a stroke. Thinking the milled face would give a better roll and would still be responsive enough on quicker greens too. I'm putting really well at the moment especially fromclose range so it is nothing to do with the stroke, more the pace of the greens

Um, I putt ok with an off the shelf Odyssey Rossie. And at 6' and 11st 11lbs I'm nowhere near fat and certainly not American. At 34" it's no longer than any other 34" putter and it's less flat than possibly I need. Not sure what model(s) you have been trying.

In fact, I found the Raylor harder to aim with as the concept of a white putter (like a white driver) escapes me and actually distracted me more than helping me.
