Got myself a new putter. Not that the Piper was misbehaving, just that I saw this one on Ebay and had to have it.

Its the Callaway TT3 Tour Blue. Shaped more or less like the Ping Piper, but milled from a block of titanium and then heat treated to give the irridescent blue look. I first saw one of these about 3 years ago and have been after one ever since.

First time out today and it helped me to a gross 74 (+3) with a grand total of 24 putts!!

Just might be staying in the bag for a while.

Seriously low number of putts - what's the story, did you drain a lot of long ones or were you missing greens and chipping close for one putts?

Some and some really. Probably about 12 greens I chipped up to a foot or 3 and then 1 putted but the rest were 8ft+. The best was about 14/15 feet. A good day all in all. Dropped a couple of shots on the last 4 holes which annoyed me big time!

When these came out, the press criticised the feel, saying they were a bit firm. I guess it doesn't bother you much.

The colour is a bit marmite though.

They get the weight in the head like this:-

2 thumping great Tungsten weights!! And the sole doesn't look as scratched as that in the "metal"

They are a tad firm feelwise, but that's how I like it - it ceratinly worked today.

24 putts is a great achievment, but chipping close that many times and sinking 15 foot putts, you must still be on cloud nine!

The putter looks great as well
