New Putter Grip Advice

Have a Winn mid-size pistol grip on my putter at the moment, just right size wise. The only problem is when it gets wet, it becomes quite slippery, almost slimey, so looking to change it. There's a fair few around to choose from, currently narrowed down to three potentials - a G-rip (http://www.adoregolfgrips.com/midsize-putter-grips/g-rip/) or an Egigo (http://www.egigogolf.com/superlight-range.html), or Tiger Shark (http://www.adoregolfgrips.com/midsize-putter-grips/tiger-shark/).

Just wondered if anyone has any experience using any of these, preferably the G-rip, and if so, what are they like in the wet?

Any other suggestions?

I had a yellow G Rip on my old Yes! Tracy - lovely feel although not particularly hard wearing.

It's not tacky when wet and I suppose you could say it was a bit slippery but I never saw it as a problem. Just how hard do you want to swing a putter?? ;)

Just don't like the slimey feel of the Winn when wet, really quite off putting......

When you say the G-rip was not particularly hard wearing, was that less than a season's use?

I've had 2 G-Rip's in the past, the fat wave and jumbo wave I think. They're ok but I found the edges a bit pronounced which i didn't like. Completely personal preference though with putter grips.

One of my aims next year is to try out one of those super stroke 3.0 fat grips.

Comes with some good recommendations, might be worth a try also.

bn toying with idea of changing my putter grip , current one feels slippy , have tried washing it , doesnt seem to improve it , just seems to have lost the "feel" in my hands

Had a go with a mates putter with a jumbo super stroke grip , didnt like it ,

Might sound silly but i love the putter so nervous of changing anything

You want to have a look at the Iomic Jumbo.

Winn (and a lot of other grips) are made of rubber. Generally they don't perform great in the wet.

Iomic are made of waterproof elastomer. Quick wipe with a towel and it's bone dry.

They can be quite pricey though.

Also be aware they are a little smaller than standard so may need building up depending on your preference.

I would have put a new one on for the new season if I had kept the putter.

The right thumb had worn a patch away

got them fitted on my driver 5w and 3hy and are the best grips I've ever had. Expensive yes but worth it in my eyes and so tacky even in the rain.

Interested, thanks..... phoned them this morning, turns out I drive pass them every day on my way to work - they suggested I stop by, can try the grips out and they will fit etc. Hoping to pop in Friday.

Re: New Putter Grip Advice

Ive got the cheapest grips £18 on my dr and 5 w and they have been on all summer. I've not seen any wear or tear from putting into the bag. In fact on my dr there is slight wear from my right thumb position but nothing significant really to complain about. The pros outweigh the cons.
