new ping i210 irons

good spot......I keep thinking of trying out the Ping range .... benefit of finding fit and then potentially good deal on previous model with faith that fitting will suit..... maybe in the autumn albeit prices look decent now

Trying hard to ignore these as I invested in some I series irons not so long ago. Struggling though not to succumb to temptation and not helped when my club pro asks if I want to take one out onto the range with me. So far the resistance remains strong

Good flag sir! I'm on to it - was planning on buying i200s this autumn

I recently changed to i200's and I have to say I was really really surprised at how much better they feel over the Ping IE1 model which they replaced. Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder and feel is subjective but I really like these, I was forced into a change but I've been very pleased with them. Tremendous bats.

Had a go of these today and was quite impressed, not a good sign.

Surprised me on a few fronts:

1. They only looked marginally bigger, if you look closely, than the mp18 sc from above.

2. Feel damn good for a cast/stainless iron.

3. Distance dispersion was almost surgical.

4. Balls don't jump off the face for knock-downs shots etc..

The size specs weren't spot on and the 2.0awt shaft felt a little whiffy so I'm now keen to try in a more suitable spec.

Will definitely give these a chance against all the Mizuno offerings when I go get me my new 'gamers'

Feeling a little grubby. I really hope I don't end up on the dark side!

Have you tried the i500s as a comparison?

Not sure that I get the market differentiation between the i210s and the i500s

No. Mainly because they're fugly (to my eyes).

They're hollow construction, flexibke face, low spinners, aimed more @ distance from what I've been reading.

Not really the kind of clubs I want

Oooh no!! I don't like the sound of them. Thinking they'd feel way too different form my current and aging (10yrs old) forged clubs.

Have fun trying them all... then walk away with a set of AP3’s or p790’s 😂👍😂👍😂👍

Don't the AP3's come into the springy face category?

They certainly come into the find more greens category. Distance-wise they are longer, which means I'm hitting an 8 iron when I used to hit a 7 iron. Appreciate they are cranked, and supposed to be spinny but it's easier hitting an 8 iron than a 7 iron etc.

They go further and the lofts are jacked up. Had to changed my wedges to compensate as pw is 43 deg, so got a 48 gap wedge..... Some find them clicky. I love the feel when you flush it. Just doesn't happen often enough....

Are we talking about the "buttery soft" brigade here?

Thanks chaps, input appreciated.

I use my irons a lot round the green so want a reliable, consistent performance off the face.

Previous irons were TM cast and VERY springy in that dept!

Will be trying on trackman, range & course before pulling the trigger.
