So I smashed my phone on Saturday. It was in my back pocket, I never put it there, and I sat on it. :o To the delight of my 15 yo grandson oooo "I have never broken any phone" he joyfully quoted me as saying. :o Damn damn!
It's a Microsoft phone 535. I've been told Microsoft have pulled out of this market. But these phones do the job I require, and after a scoot about, are alot cheaper on the bay than Android for the same size screens. Is there really really a very good reason to shell out £100+ for on of these, or will I be ok with MS Lumia's, which I will probably go with?

If the operating system is still being supported and you like the system, go for it. I got the Father in Law a Nokia Luma because you could make the tiles bigger and I think it's a great phone. If you're not a user of many apps and are happy with the existing functions I'd say stick with it.

Like you, I've had to replace my phone last week. My Moto G started acting up and the keyboard wouldn't work, so I reluctantly went to Tescos to see what was on offer. I didn't want to go high tech or pay the earth, as currently I was paying £5 a month for all that I need from a phone. I eventually plumped for the Moto e4 which is pretty similar to my previous phone so not too alien in how it works. £11 a month for all my needs seemed good value for me.

I also have a Motorola G4 on Tesco which is an excellent phone for the money. I just didn't recommend it as you were asking about Windows phone but in terms of Bangs for the Buck, you can't beat Motorola on Tesco.
