A few weeks ago I posted that I was looking for replacement woods preferably ones with small heads. I have always been wary of the bigger headed clubs, as they feel so light compared to my Callaways.
Anyway, I had a look around and decided to bite the bullet and ordered an MD EQL 12 degree driver At £69.95 brand new there wasn't an awful lot to lose if I didn't get on with it. It had won rave reviews so I felt pretty confident that despite it's low price it was a decent club.
It arrived last week, and today was the first chance I have had since then to go out and give it a try.
I've been suffering from flu all week and shouldn't have really gone out, but what the heck. A bit of fresh air never killed anyone...did it?
For the first couple of par 4's I used my old Cally 3 wood, I didn't want to cock up my round early doors so decided to wait for a decent elevated tee and fairly open fairway to give the MD some biscuit.
Up came the 6th with the ideal situation I was looking for. Made sure I teed the ball up nice and high, took a couple of practice swings and then gave the ball a clout. Bloody hell!! Why didn't I buy one of these months ago??? The ball flew off the club face, with a lovely bit of draw to it and landed past my mates drive. He couldn't believe it for a first strike with a new wood. I carried on using it and was hitting it better than I ever hit my Callaway driver. I cocked up one drive a little later in the round as I was beginning to flag a little due to the 'flu, but on the 18th hole I really put my head into gear as I wanted to finish on a high. Hit the drive 248 (courtesy of the sg2.5) into the wind smack bang into the middle of the fairway with hardly any roll at all, left me a nice easy wedge into the green. Shame I missed the putt. for the birdie. Well chuffed and can't wait for the matching 3 & 5 woods to turn up!!

Just goes to show, you dont have to buy big to get big!

Where did you get it from? What shaft is in it?

It's a 460cc head so it's much bigger than my old Cally.
It has a UST Proforce "tip active" regular shaft which feels great.
I got it from a guy on ebay who buys in bulk from MD Golf

Very good prices and quick delivery too.

Sounds like you got a great deal. Beware though the batteries on all things new and shiny eventually go flat and will reconfigure into a club of scaffold pole proportions unless nurtured and carressed lovingly.
