Just a short one to say hi to everyone on the forum. And here’s hoping that the snow disappears…….. Whatever happened to global warming when you need it!
Tyrrells is a good test of Golf. It not too difficult to get round, but scoring well is a challenge (certainly for me anyway). You need to be on top of every aspect of your game, otherwise silly numbers are just around the corner. The course was in good condition last year and I’m sure that this will continue in 2010.
Have you played Chipstead? Another decent track and although short its another that its easy to make a mess of. When I played it back in 2006 the greens were really quick and true. The only thing I didn't like was the run of three par 3's on the spin
Used to walk through Chipstead GC on the way to the train station in the morning. Made it very difficult to go to work, especially in the summer. Was going to get charged 30 quid for a twilight round when we moved into the area four years ago. Thought better of it, and haven’t been back.
Played many of the other courses within a couple of miles – Kingswood (used to be a member), Surrey Downs, Banstead, Cuddington, Surrey National, Walton Heath …..and there’s probably another dozen or so that I haven’t played yet.
