new irons

after much deliberation, think im going to go for the TM CBs, on offer at the mo too at DG, for £449, so decent price. i REALLY likes the TM MCs and the Wilson FG V2s, but bit out price range, hit them really well though! they are clubs more suited to much lower h/cap people than me, but i have a much better swing than my h/cap shows. think the CBs will be better in the long run too with a bit more forgiveness than the MCs/V2s

oddsocks you star! now i currently dont use a 3 iron, would it benefit to get one for an extra £50 or would it be a total waste?

I was also tempted with the 3i but opted against it. The irons are generally atleast 1 to 1.5 clubs longer than my 09 burners, used to hit my 4i about 180, rocking the cb about 205

I bypassed the CB's and tried the MC's thinking they were similar to my old TP's. Didn't really hit them well and perhaps should have had another look before the R11's. Never mind. Hope you enjoy them

The only downside to these is I find the gapping a bit weird, but I've heard rumours that sometimes the lofts are a bit up and down so I want this checked, some clubs gap at 10-15 yards, some as much as 25 yards

I originally ordered a split set, 4 - 6 in the MC and 7 - PW in the MB's. Then decided to get the MB's in 4 - 6 also. All clubs were ordered 2 degree flat. Had all clubs checked after a Driver fitting and out of 10 clubs 1 was of the correct lie and the MC 5 iron had the wrong loft.

This after a Custom Fit and the clubs being assembled by TaylorMade.

I would suggest you do have your clubs checked.

I think the CBs and the R11's are virtually the same club.

well, i went to order the irons and they only had reg shafts! doh!
anyway, mate has gone off for work for a month, so he left me his faithful Wilson Staff ci7 irons, nice! used them yesterday and shot 44 points with 2 blobs. my playing partner was not happy and has now cut me! haha, and i did get 5 pars, so was VERY happy!haha
i 3 putted a crazy 5 times! i was holing loads on the putting green!
