Hi,

I'm looking into changing my current irons, MX200, to MP53's, should i get re fitted or keep my set up and just change the heads?

Have a free fitting for the new clubs, your spec may have changed. Mine did and the clubs needed to be adjusted 2deg flat.

Definately get fit. My last 2 sets were both 2 degrees up. Haven't been fitted though for about 4 years. Went for a fitting for my new irons and standard lie was right, also tried lots of different shafts and stepped away from DG's for the first time ever as the Project X just felt so good and game me a much nicer ball flight.

Heads and shaft work in combo

Is the correct answer.
THe 200's and whichever shaft you have in them may launch at angle A and produce X amount of spin.
53's with the same shaft may produce launch angle B and spin Y or any combination, which may or may not be good...

Go get a DNA fit - it'll give you the shaft, then try it with the 53 head and see if it works..
