New golf thinking now available in paperback

I love these magic solutions, do any of them actually work?

To be fair, there is no magic solution, no psychology book is going to correct a poor game or shot. The fact that certain shots are just a result of poor thinking and decision making can be, I believe, helped by learning clear thinking and that is where these books can be of great benefit.

Take for example someone who has first tee nerves, they physically can hit a good shot but get so worried about the shot for a variety if reasons eg looking an idiot if they foul up, what most golf psychology books do, and I've read a fair few, is to give the player ways to overcome those nerves by say, deep breathing exercises or focus ideas or maybe understanding that the shot has no more consequence in reality than any other shot. If someone reads the help offered, and it takes away the anxiety from that shot, then, I for one, think it's as helpful as any physical lesson that a golf pro might give on technique!

No, it won't suit everyone and the book didn't have any ideas that I haven't read before but it will help some and will be derided by others as is everything in life and on this forum, but ...... One mans meat ...... And all that!

Thankfully there are people here who don't value your opinion,

I welcome the additional format as viewing on iPhone was a tad small
Hope it reaches a wider audience .

Actually one of the main things I took out of it was to clear my head too many swing thoughts and associated clutter.

Two NGT threads and its clear you have no interest. Fine but like Aimpoint and many other things, just because others prefer to use it and you don't doesn't mean it doesn't work or isn't right.

Definitely well worth it, has helped me no end.

To you maybe, but to me, golf, before reading the book, was like looking at a work of art through Vaseline smeared glasses, reading NGT cleaned the glasses and now I can see the metaphorical work of art.

Not at all, reading NGT has helped clear my mind of unrequired golfing clutter.

As above, I agree totally.

NGT is not a book to be read cover to cover, there is a lot in there, which many will think will just clutter the mind. It's not trying to tell a story, but is meant as a reference, something you refer when required. Do the self assessment form and read the chapters it highlights as your weak area(s).

How has it helped you scores/handicaps?

After all you're surely reading the book to decrease both.

How has the clear mind created by the book helped your golf ?

Since going on the NGT day at The Grove, I've been cut, won two roll ups at the club and for seventeen holes was right in contention yesterday. I was struggling after no points on the 15th, hit a perfect drive down the tightest driving hole with a clear mind. I would have been dwelling on what had just happened, especially a double hit, but able to use NGT to clear that and focus purely on the tee shot at the next.

Works for me. It's about cherry picking the sections that work for your own situations rather than reading cover to cover.
