I think the new clubs are there to add carry, so you will fly the ball further, and i guess on warm days and hard grounds then yes it may go further.
I had a custom fitting a while ago and was told to use a 11.5 degree driver, as it added to my carry distance.
But as you may read below i have 8.5 and did not follow the 11.5 degree advice given.... I believe your best off trying a few out, if poss in a round with friends. Get a feel for it yourself.
