Eyemouth, really enjoyed it
Winterfield, really didn't enjoy it
Duns, good fun
Woll, okay, not exciting
Ripon, loved it

I would definitely repeat Eyemouth and Ripon, Duns probably.

Grimm's dyke , would like to return in better weather. Was a good lay out

Stoke by nayland, good resort course. Both of them decent enough

The hertsmere , enjoyed

Royston, would only return in a buggy and not on a windy day again (when your super fit mate after he recommended it says oh I always get a buggy there, when he walks every course..)

Five lakes , good fun enjoyed

Hopefully 2025 brings more new courses

2023 I managed 10 new I think, but only Scotscraig this year unfortunately, although did have a few rounds on there.

Hopefully next year brings a few more!

Goswick
Alnmouth
Bamburgh Castle
The Hallamshire
Stratford Oaks

And in the Algarve;

Ombria
Pinheiros Altos

Enjoyed all of them, and also revisited a couple of old favourites which I haven’t played for over 20 years. Been a good year.

Played Stoke by Nayland a lot as the in laws lived nearby, and I rented a house not far away for a year, also played Royston as I was doing a contract at Stevenage for a short time, seem to remember I had to drive to the first tee. (is that correct ?)

Just the 4 for me. A lot of “yes I’ll go back” from new courses in 2023 it appears having had a look through.

Princes (all 3 9s)
Camberley Heath
Tandridge
Littlehampton

But already have 5 new courses lined up for 2025, with a couple of holidays where it looks like I might be able to tick off more golf abroad in the pipeline as well.

Just the one, I think. But my short term memory can let me down sometimes.

A very lovely day at Shifnal with Upsidedown, Bigfoot and Crow.

And there are 3 other forumers who will have to put my course on their list.

Been lucky enough to have played Princes and Littlehampton quite a few times and Tandridge once.

Ah me and @Orikoru decided to walk like Muppets. Pointlessly adding 3/4 mile walk on top of the round

Clubhouse was closed aswell afters so didn't even need to go back

New courses I played were:
Verulam - interesting track, with a railway next to the first that my mate managed to knife a bunker shot onto.
Royston - as @PJ87 mentioned - the walk nearly killed us and the wind was a joke.
Luton Hoo - really enjoyed it, probably mainly because it doesn't have any bunkers.
The Inspiration - newly built course in North West London, great layout but clubhouse wasn't built yet!
Belton Woods (2 courses) - did a friends golf trip here and loved it, despite brutal winds on the first day.
Chartridge Park - a weird course of two halves, the front nine is full of daft quirky holes that I didn't particularly like, but the back nine is absolutely fine.
Mill Green - pretty straightforward course, and I played probably my best round of the year (11 over) so of course I enjoyed it.
Puttenham - nice little fun course, although I found it very tight and tricky.
West Surrey - played in the worst rain I've ever played in, but I did get a trophy at the end of it. 😉 Would love to go back on a nicer day.
Woburn (Marques) - incredible place. Probably the best course I played this year, it was just superb.
Aldwickbury - decent enough course but didn't really stand out for me.
Seafield (Ayr) - lovely little course I played on my own while in Scotland with the wife's family.
Bush Hill Park - decent track although was very muddy at the end of October.
Downshire - not sure why my mate chose this for his birthday, I'd describe it as 'bog standard'.

That was more than I thought. Happy I managed to get that many new courses in. 👍🏻

Was in Victoria when on our tour down under 5yrs ago and I was able to play Port Fairy…but my Mrs said we only had time for 9holes 🙁 - so I played the nine that took us along the shore…an absolutely stunning nine holes of links golf.

On 2024…I think I’ve played just one new course…Old Thorns.

It was nice to play Cleeve Hill after a very long wait (30+ yrs) since the last time…and always nice to play Minchinhampton Cherington with my best mate who is a member, and it’s been a while.

But I’ve had some fabulous golfing experiences and moments following Lottie Woad (with my future son-in-law her coach and caddy) in person in her Women’s Open and Curtis Cup exploits - and from afar as she triumphed at Augusta.

Just 4 for me on a Spring trip to north Wales...

Llandudno Maesdu - loved it.

The Anglesey - liked it but some of the holes were a bit samey.

Bull Bay - spectacular and exciting course but too many blind tee shots to really enjoy as a one off without haemorrhaging golf balls. Would love to learn it and play regularly.

North Wales GC - loved half of the holes but found the other half a bit disappointing.

Only the nine new ones this year - unusual in that our 'Scottish trip' was (mostly) revisiting old haunts rather than new. And some of the new ones were cheap public courses, as one of our party has a rather archaic view on how much a decent golf course should cost. I think he's stuck in the 1980's.
