Hi there just bought new clubs and was told by the local pro that the shafts are to short and Need extended.i am 6ft tall how long should my shafts be? And are extensions as good as new shaft?.All help would be greatful
did the local pro get you to hit off of a 'lie board' or have any launch monitor that gave the numbers of the dynamic lie, face angle, where the locations of strike were on the face - plus where the 'mark' of hitting board was on the sole
if either was done it would indicate whether the sole of the club was contacting the 'ground' a way 'level' so the middle of the sole as it should be & not more towards the heel or toe?
plus looking where the average shot pattern was?
why getting a dynamic club fitting is the best ways to buy clubs first off
was any of that done or was this advice just based on looking at your clubs & your height alone ?
the fact that you are 6' as a measurement alone really is not a true indicator of how long the shafts/clubs should be
the wrist to floor static measurement will be more of an indicator that measurement is you standing upright arms relaxed down the sides. the measurement is taken vertically from the 'crease' between the hand & arm down to the floor (in shoes if golf spikes bottom of sole not spikes)
average wrist to floor measurement for standard shafts is approx as a guide 34.50", 35" at around 6' - so if just around this give or take a tad, standard should be ok.
