i have just joined lee park golf course in merseyside, its my 1st time as a club member does anybody have any tips how i can intergrate myself quickly as i have joined on my own

buy everyone drinks after each game, your be the most exclusive member there,

On a serious note, try and see if they have any rollups or swindles you can join, its the quickest way to meet people...

As Oddsocks has said rollups and swindles are good, also have a word with the club pro and the secretary and tell them what sort of games you are looking for, they may guide you in the right direction

Welcome to the forum by the way

Chris

are the comps draw? another way of meeting other members once you have got an active handicap.
talk to the pro shop guys.

welcome and enjoy.

Degsy - there are a few people on here who are members, I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago, I am still looking at potential clubs and one of them is Lee Park, a few forum members indicated that they would be happy to sign me in as a guest for a round before joining.

If you can amend the title thread then they may pop up on here

i have found the quickest way to meet other members is to pick a ball up from the adjacent fairway it never fails to attract a bit of banter and club hirling swearing etc etc happy swinging.

Jpenno - when you fancy a round (of a weekend) give me some notice and we'll have a knock. It maybe better waiting until March to see the course when its 7/10, but by April it will be in very good condition, with a newly opened 10th to boot.

Degsy, welcome on board fella, me and Stuart_C are Lee park members from on here. We will be having a knock together soon (our first date) also. We don't have a pro or pro shop at Lee Park, but Billy and Ian (the starters) will point you in the right direction.

My advice is to go in the Sunday comps via the computer, if you can get an early tee time before 9.30 there are loads of good lads who play at them times, same lads every week, and you'll start getting in with some of them, especially if you stay for a pint. It is hard to get them times though, but should be ok for a single booking.

Other than that, be friendly, its generally a friendly club, and you should be fine. I dont know much about sweeps during the week, but speak to the starters, they'll know.

Your not Derek hatton are you?????

Anyhow, more importantly:-

Where have you joined from, or is this your first club?
What's you h/cap?
Are you a blue, or are you intelligent?
Did my mate Dave Globe, interview you?
Why did you pick Lee park?

Just find out where roll ups are and play the medals , put your name down anywhere with same handicap level and play with different people , you soon make friends , good luck

its my 1st club not got a official handicap yet but im off 20 with my society. Im a scouser so im a blue of course. not met dave globe. As 4 why i joined lee park it was either lee park or woolton i played both last year an prefered lee park
