Went out with my 910 on the course for the first time today and it went pretty well. But the balls i use (srixon soft feel) feel a little too soft for this driver.

The 910 feels like a more solid contact wheras my mx700 had more of a spring off the face. I'm hitting it around the same distance but the ball just aint quite feeling right off the face. I'm hitting it pretty much out of the middleish as the ball leaves a white mark on the black face.

So would it be worth trying abit of a harder ball?

i presume the clubs are tested with the best balls on the market not cheap hard ones

Yeah i wouldn't go for a cheap nasty hard ball as i can't stand them but maybe go for abit of a firmer ball to see if it feels any better off the face.

If it feels funny, you arnt hitting the sweetspot ;)

The cheek! :p

I know i don't always hit the sweetspot but even when i did hit it out the middle today the ball just felt soft and didn't seem to spring off the face like my old mx700.

It's probley just me and i need to get used to a new club, it's also not as loud so that could be messing with my head abit.

Might give a little bit of a harder ball a go though to see if it does make a diffrence.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Srixon Soft Feel balls, although they're probably a little softer than premium balls.

I think the laws limiting the trampoline effect have been in place long enough now so that both of your drivers will have the maximum allowed. Are the 2 clubs different in any other ways ie. loft, shaft, length?

Do you use white wooden tees?
I've not seen any marks on the face of mine from the ball, but I'm getting marks lower on the face from my tees.

Yeah my mx700 had a off the shelf regular flex shaft whereas now i have a stiff shaft.

Yeah i do use white wooden tees and wonderd what the little white marks that were right on the bottom of the face but like you say it must be the tees.

How dare they mark up my new club the cheeky little swines! :)

I had the same when I went from a budget Ben Sayers driver to my Yonex. there was a change in distance probably due to the better club but the feel upon impact was different

I've just learnt to cope and now dont notice a difference

Im no expert, but Im using the mx700 driver and normaly use
srixon ad 333 balls,I had some TM Penta balls bought for me
at chtistmas and they fly off the bat, expensive though..

Did you try a regular shaft in the 910, or what made you change flex?

Don't worry about the white tee marks, they wash off easily enough :)

Might be worth trying something a bit different - maybe the Z star (you can get some great deals with the 2011 version coming out). Other than that, I guess it is just a bedding in process especially if you gone from R to S shafts

Yup tried a regular in two different shaft weights and the stiff was the better of them on the flightscope and felt the best.

I don't quite have the swing speed for a stiff shaft (95mph average but it gave the best results.

Yeah just cleaned my clubs and they washed off ok, thank god! haha

Been using bridgestone b330 tour with mine and going well. Not tried a soft feel though. Id expect a new club to feel different tho, particularly the driver?

Did you try you MX700 on the flightscope too to compare with?

Yup and the stats on the flightscope said that was the worst out of all of them, spin rate and launch angle was way up and my disspersion was the worst.

And i thought i hit it quite well! haha.

Yeah i think it's just me being abit too fussy and being too much of a perfectionist.
