Full marks to anyone organising these events as its time consuming and you'll always get people moaning if its not on there door step. Fair play to Patrick for organising the Scottish one at Nairn even tho its his home course and a cracker at that as he has done some amount of travelling over the years to get to meets

I'll say no right now to that idea

Last year each event had around 20 people so around 100 people entered

Get GM to give prizes ?!

Why don`t you do it , You got every tee shirt going so just add one more , you are the expert in everything , me i will play again any place any time , thanks

Last years event worked perfectly well. Why change it ? Regional events mean we get a lot more forumers playing. Also some forumers are already arranging regional events, me included.

:)

Just do one event , 48 spots , open to GM Forum Members in say june in the Midlands , 2 day event , 1st day in time order , 2nd day leaders out last , prizes for each cat , also age groups and of course top 3 , Get GM to put up the prizes , i am in ................:) ps i am willing to help on the day with checking in and stuff

Why the midlands? It's not the middle of the UK.

I certainly have Steve, the 11 hour drive to Woodhall was almost as bad as getting to Machrihanish a few times.

Thats some journey to there ,I've been there a few times myself when the brother in law was in the RAF at Coningsbay. Im the same the Machrihanish drive was a killer in one day for me personally same with Dundonald, great courses tho

I'd be happy to organise an East Anglia regional qualifier subject to having enough interest from that area. Have posted in the "Arrange a Game" section to see what sort of numbers we might be able to get to see if it's worthwhile. One suggestion so far was to play Thetford which is fairly central for the region and although I've never played it is meant to be a good course.

as long as it doesn't clash with what im already trying to organise?

tried to PM you but your inbox is full

Not at all. I'm sure that there are people in the likes of Dumfries whose closest meet would be in England. Hopefully bridge that gap.

It's up to D4S though- not up to me. If I can be of help to the comp arranging something down here then I'll oblige.

sound like you are just going to clash with what i'm already trying to organise, there's only so many guys that will go to an even in Scotland anyway.. how many went last year?

if you were so desperate to do it why didn't you just say to start with rather than go thought the pretense of saying you did'nt want to do it to start with?

Surely Scotland is big enough to be able to host two events ?

Last year ther was two events within ten miles of each around London

Im sure he is just trying to arrange a comp for people that cant travel all the way up to Inverness

its not a comp to see who can arrange what

I asked Virtuocity if he would be willing to organise a south of Scotland qualifier , but only after you had your numbers in place . I can't see a problem as the 2 venues will be over 200 miles apart .
