A couple of years ago we went to Florida and decided to drive to the Kennedy Space Centre. Really enjoyable, I'd recommend it. Anyway, we saw lots of footage of the space station and I was quite taken aback by how patchwork it is. I'm so used to seeing tv and film sets of space ships that I thought it would be smooth and sleek inside like the Enterprise. Instead there were wires everywhere, pipes the same. I'm sure it makes it easier to repair if there are faults but it looked a real mess.
The designers badly need to watch some scifi and up their game ?

I have seen a picture where they compared the last US ship with this one. In the last the astronauts had over 1000 buttons and switches, yesterday it all looked like a handful of touch screens.
