My Ping has no zing

While playing a fourball match once, my partner noticed that my Ping Zing putter didn't 'ping', i.e. it didn't make that pleasing 'ping' sound when it strikes the ball. It made a dull thud noise instead but I'd never noticed before. He demonstrated that his Ping putter did have the sound in question...so have I been sold a dud?? Should a Ping putter make a ping sound??

the 1A or the A1.

I think the anser with the slit behind the face makes this noise too.

Nothing wrong with your putter I would have thought though.

The original Anser model with the slit definitely "pinged" as I had one. I'm not sure any of the current range do. Certainly the ones I've tried in AG never have

I agree with the posts, the Ping 1A sounded like a bloomin' tuning fork when you putted with it. It used to turn heads on the practice putting green.

The anser onward would not ping, but sound much like any other putter off the face.
