Looking at moving a club on through eBay, and the normal parcelforce is a bit steep for postage. So I tried to have a look at my Hermes for a price but as far as I can tell you need the buyers postcode (which obvs I haven't gotten yet)

Would be grateful if someone could run through the process

many thanks

just put in any mainland uk postcode and it will give you a good guide as to price (pretty sure price doesnt change based on all the parcels ive sent through them)

Not only are they cheap-ish (under a fiver to send a club signed and insured to £50), you do it online, print the label at home (pay thru PP) and either take it to a local drop off shop (they'll be one very near you) or for a few extra pence they collect.

I just tweeted them praising my 25th despatch thru them in the last 8 weeks all delivered faster than they quoted and cheaper than the PO.

Just be aware that they have a size limit of 4Ft which could catch you out if you are posting a driver

Ive had one rejected at the drop off shop a while ago, took it to another and it was accepted

Go figure

Cheers fellas

added to this, and I have to admit feeling a bit daft. But how heavy is a club? Simple google search is not helping

1kg including the box should cover it. Sent 3 clubs off last week cost me approx £3.50 each signed for. Good service to.

they have ratings of under 1KG then 1-2KG, best to use that one as sometimes with box and headcover/wrench/packaging you might be over 1KG and it's a £25 admin charge + difference if it is. Via EBAY your Postage charges will easily cover it.

I've sent 3 drivers in the last week, 120cm is max box length and you can trim box to pretty much 121/122cm (unless a TM driver) and you should be ok.

My Hermes are great. It's yodel you need to steer clear off. They lose things before they get of your driveway.

Hermes are a iffy round my way - not far from you! Had 1 parcel go missing (purchased on here) and another supposedly 'out for delivery' had not been done because there were no actual couriers available at the depot (Brooklands)!

The other thing to be aware of is that if you take it to a drop-off shop, then you lose the ability of dealing directly with Hermes - as their 'contract' is with the shop, not you.

But they are certainly cheap - and PF is certainly expensive! I had to remind PF to load the details onto their Tracking system plenty of times too - and no longer use them!

As for weight. It's highly likely that a Driver will be < 1Kg, but 1-2Kg will definitely cover the packed/taped club and not a lot more - all generally covered by the purchaser of course!

not true, as the shop issue a Hermes receipt as they are only a drop off station- you already have a paid contract directly with My Hermes before dropping off.

Doh! My blunder! Re-read the bit that prompted that and it's about queries on Delivery (and High St Retailers). They only discuss details with the shipper - private or High St. And my delivery depot simply lied!

I think the companies like Hermes/Yodel etc are very different between areas. I sold 4 alloy wheels through ebay and used Hermes to deliver them. Unfortunately for me only 3 turned up with the buyer and the 4th was declared lost at my local depot, how you can lose a boxed up wheel I have no idea. Needless to say I was left with 3 wheels that are of no use to me or anyone else so I am a few hundred pound out of pocket. Yodel on the other hand have been great for me, and I have never had a problem sending or receiving.

It is definitely worth trying to check reviews of the service local to you before you decide who to use.
