My golf game = fail

Ditch the mizuno's and get some GI shovels. Just joking, keep working on it, any major work on your swing is always going to entail a period of period of self doubt and poor golf.

Go see the guy who is coaching you and don't hit so many balls on the range, you will end up hitting balls for the sake of it and lose focus on what you are working on. I much prefer the little and often practice routine.

The guy coaching me lives 160 miles away. :(

Tell him to get off his backside and travel down to you in your hour of need. :)

No pro's closer to home that you have faith in?

Not that I've found so far. All the ones at the range I go to are either too expensive(for the head pro) or too inexperienced.

The ones at the club I play at might be ok, but I don't get much of a chance to get down there in the week (it's a 25 minute drive) and I want to be on the course at the weekends. Not on the range.

Aztecs, give Alex (pro) a go. I've had a number of lessons with him and find him very knowledgeable - and like-minded. You never know, you just might click (which I think is very important). Could be the best £20 you spend.

Yea, he would be the only one I'd consider. I had a lesson with Jamie-Lee and although she's a lovely young lady and a fantastic golfer, she didn't give me the drills or feedback I needed to help improve my swing. I was running the drills she asked me to for 2 weeks with no improvement.

In contrast, after 5 minutes (literally) with our Bob when I went to pick up my 2nd *ahem** v-Easy, he gave me a drill which after 30-40 balls, worked instantly. And he's given me much better feedback, but then he has been teaching for about 100 years, so he's bound to have picked up a thing or two :D ;)

If you really want to be a good golfer then you would put any amount of time into it!
I understand that its hard sometimes but 25 minutes hardly seems the end of the world!
You may not want to go to the range at weekends but you just might have to not play for one weekend?
It seems that buying expensive shiny new sticks isnt enough after alll!

I hear what you're saying. And you're right, 25 minutes isn't far at all. If I was arsed about it, I wouldn't have chosen it as my home club, but my issue is, I sometimes don't finish work until 6 or 7pm, making it difficult to get down there during the week for a lesson.
