I seem to have gone about half a mile backwards.

My ball striking used to be my best asset. Now I can barely hit one good ball in a basket of 100 at the range.

Don't feel comfortable or confident with my swing and I think (don't know for sure without video evidence) I have my over the top swing back.

Just in time for Beau Desert. Wonderful

Go back to basics mate, the swing is still in there somewhere. Your timing is probably just a bit off.

Yea, I'm hoping it's a timing thing. I just don't have any consistency. Really frustrating.

Tim - were you down there last night?

No, was on the course in the afternoon though.
You cant stop there tim , you were on a course ? a golf course like not a work learning course or something?? ( i say that coz when im sneaking away for a game early on a work day, i tell people im on a course that evening & phone will be off) how many did you play or roughly what did you shoot .. how was the game etc .. actualy throw us up a post giving details , homer style review , gona b alota people wondering how you got on .. hope ya did well & enjoyed it ?/

glad I may not be the only one at Beau swinging crap ;)

am sure its just a temp glitch, was the same for me on sunday couldnt hit 1 decent shot

it will come back soon enough Aztecs :)

its a simple thing aztecs, in effort to shows your greatness, you have stiffened up and are other thinking every shot. just relax........ and enjoy it.

Sorry to hear it.
Told you it would be difficult.
If you get a chance to get to the range soon, put a slight pause at the top of the backswing. That should help improve your timing.

Never played it myself. Looks to be in great nick, but I've never seen a more boring course in my life.

It's getting better. It was awful in the early spring. The greens had been cored and sanded - putting was almost impossible, but they've settled in now. Was the first time on it in a month for me.

Some of the holes are deadly boring, but it does have some excellent ones too. It's quite short, but the difficultly lies in the greens - all very small and some very difficult to hit.

I played with a golf society last June at Thornbury, your course, for a particular golf event each year in which they normally invite people who don't play regularly (I shot +12), so wanted a nice easy course to play. Smashing course - big greens, wide open fairways. The first hole is quite spectacular.

I'll tell you what tim, if you shot 12 over par 3 or 4 weeks after taking the game up last year you obviously have an aptitude for the game!

I'm not taking the p*sh (honestly), but like I say it should be well within your capabilities getting a handicap of < 10 with the amount you practice and from that good a starting point.

Keep going. This happens to me all the time for no apparent reason???

Sometimes it would take a week or a month or 6 months, but I'd always come oput of the other side. The best result I ever had (Gross 72) was after a 3 month period of rubbish and the day after a poor trip to Wales where I played dreadful (gross 96)

Good Luck

Nice and easy?

I'll say it's no Carnoustie but I wouldn't say it was an "easy" course. Although, you might have found it easy because you're massive off the tee.

If you catch it on a windy day, you're buggered :(

But you're right, it's a smashing course. And the holes with open fairways are great for practicing getting a quicker swing speed. ;)

I went last night and did try this but my back swing just felt very awkward. :(

I'll sure it'll get there. Just got to percy. :)
