My girlfriend has decided to take up this noble art.

Its my job to come home after a game and moan to the missus about how crap I was or about the 4 ball in front holding me up. It wouldnt sound right if she did the moaning for this as well!

In fact, the missus asked me the other day why it takes pros around 4 hours to get around and why it takes me 7. I just said because they are very good. That secret would be out in the unlikely event she took up the game.

No thanks!
Mattyboy! I'll need some bribing to stop me telling ur missis that you can actually play a round in 3 hours ;) Better get another couple of bottles of whisky into ur bar for me ;)

many comments on here seem to miss the fact that you can get your game on a Saturday morning no problem. If the other half plays on a Sat afternoon, you get the afternoon free to watch the football as well ;)

A win - win situation

Seriously though, did exactly the same many years back. My wife still plays regularly with her golfing mates, I get my golf with my mates, we can play golf on holiday, no problems from my perspective :)

Well only one problem, she knows what golf kit costs

I'd hate my tart to start playing golf, getting away from her going to play golf for 5 hrs is my time.

Although If she did try it I'd let her play in front of me and just keep hitting balls at her ;)

If she stand right in front of you she would be safe .....10 yrds in front and 40 to the left ............now thats the danger area ......................:ears:

Fair play to you getting her involved, my missus isn't interested in the slightist which is a good thing in my eyes cos we have 3 kids and i wouldnt want to be the one at home while she is on the course lol
Popped into the pro shop at your club the other day to see what he had in stock but he's just took over the last one and didnt have much in :(

You should have seen it before he took over. Full of old second hand clubs and a load of cheep crap apart from a few bits of Ping. Chris has now got an account with Taylormade and is starting to stock all their kit along with the Ping so will be a good choice for all golfers, even us younger players who are not ready for colostomy bags and Ping kit yet................

HID dabbled and had group lessons about ten years ago. It never came to much and she never had the patience for it. The clubs were dirt cheap and so it didn't break the bank and she's never shown any inkling to start again and its not my job to put thought into a womans head. Plenty of room in there mind

Mine would hit the ball miles, absolutely miles. She hits a mean tennis ball. Plays in the men's top ladder matches at her club. But, she has no interest in golf. She tried it once, and wasn't interested. Shame, as it would open a world of golf holidays. She would also cheat like heck. That's the way she is.

Ive got that cheap Grants - I suspect I will need something a bit better though!
Cheap? It was free with some tabs! Aye, get the good stuff in, that one i was dishing out was lovely - £50 a bottle tho...might be a bit steep. Surely me not telling isn't worth that much ;)

My Missus started "playing" last year when Cooden were advertising a course of 6 free lessons to complete beginners. She went, and absolutely loved it. So much so that she booked an additional course of lessons with Sean Creasey, the pro there.
She now has her own set of Cobra irons, a selection of woods and hybrids, and is building up a collection of shoes, clothes etc. Getting a bit expensive!
Due to only having one car in the family, (my company one), she walks to Cooden every time she has a lesson, which is a 6 mile round trip! Puts her bag over her shoulder and off she goes. As I say, she loves it, doesn't mind the walk at all, and is really dedicated.
Trouble is, her lessons are coming to an end soon and she is itching to get out and play more. What's not helping is that two of the girls she was having lessons with have actually joined Cooden. She keeps dropping hints, but at just over £1k joining fee and £900.00 a year membership there is absolutely no chance of her becoming a member too.
Waiting for the better weather to kick in and will then take her out for the occasional Sunday afternoon knock, preferably somewhere cheap!!

My other half hit a few range balls on holiday and was determined to get into it. Luckily all we left AG with was a 7 iron as it hasnt seen the light of day since:D
