My first custom first experience.

To me, that's not a custom fit, though, depending on the time involved, it's also not all that bad a cost - provided you get some sort of voucher/receipt so that a subsequent purchase qualifies for the discount.

They would be flooded with 'testers' if they didn't have some sort of dis-incentive for such browsers. And the credit means it doesn't cost if it's successful.

There's another Lefty specialist at Kingswood
(unless that's moved), but a mate had a similar, or maybe worse, treatment from a (possibly different) fitting studio based there.

You should actually agree what your expectations are for a fitting and what the fitter is prepared to provide for their charge.

If it was the Jason I know doing the fitting (I think there are 2 there) he's very good. It's also possible that the fitter can make a leap to what he believes will work without communicating his thought process. Or he may just be getting a better deal from that company!

That left handed specialist has moved to Silvermere. It was also mentioned on the forum yesterday. And if I'm reading your post right, your mate had a similar experience with the left handed fitter that used to be at Kingswood. Hmmm, I wonder where Mashley went for his "fitting".......

Sounds ok for £25. You got to try a variety of clubs from different manufacturers and got stats from flight-scope. I don't think there are many places who would offer more for £25.

Well having just googled custom fit in kent I see West Malling Golf club do custom fit for £30 (£15 back on a purchase) and that includes flightscope, tape on the sole etc just like the Titleist day thread included, not just trying clubs out. I've also looked at few other website to see what their customer includes. It does feel as though I've not got my £25 quids worth.

So question is where do I go from here? I still want a new set of clubs!

That sounds very very much like my fitting, and that was what I expected.

I went to the range, booked a session. He watched my current irons, saw my swing, and the trackman readings. Worked out I was a solid standard shaft. Tried a load of irons, settled on the Pings due to the best numbers, and when i decided I wanted to buy them, then we worked out lie and all of that.

The only difference was that mine was completely free. I thought that would be the norm to be honest, if I was paying for it, I would expect a bit more indepth with different shafts and what not. I think that may have been an option with mine, but as it was going so well with the stock Ping shafts, there was no need to try!
