Must try putters?

Hi Gareth, how do you get on with Scotty now has it stood the test of a few months? I remember having serious putter-envy when you bought it!

I've always been a pretty good putter, even when I had an off-the-shelf Yes! going round in circa 33-34 PPR.

Since I got fitted my PPR dropped to 31-32. I Put this down to the fitting NOT the Scotty

On average it's saved me between 2 and 3 shots a round. It's still the mutts nutts of a putter and will never leave my bag, even if I did buy the N/C.

I've brought a V-Easy of our Bob a while back and my PPR has dropped again. My last 3 rounds have been 29,30,29,29

Getting fitted and using the V-Easy to groove a proper stroke has saved me about 5 shots a round dropping from 34 to 29.

This is why when ever a putter thread come us, I always push getting a proper fitting.

Thanks chap, I have a few things higher on the list but when the time comes I'll certainly be looking for a fitting, makes sense. Cheers

Loving my Odyssey White Hot XG Putter #9. Replaced my trusted Donnay putter that I had for 7 years with this. I don't know why I waited so long to buy a decent putter:confused:

I recently bought a seve icon 3 made by MD golf and i love it, it was 49.99 and i tried a 200 pound putter to compare with and could not putt to save my life with it. I think that if you find a putter you like regardless of whether it isnt a 100 pound putter then that putter will feel comfortable, surely there is no better feeling than confidence ?

Taylormade Ghost Tour would be one I would look at. Tempted myself but my standard Fontana seems to be working fine at the moment.

I had said I'd get a fitting for my next putter but this new one just sat so well and rolled ball after ball in. With 20% off too the price was too good to resist. I guess the fact that I've been using a white ice #9 recently meant it wasn't a culture shock or trying to change my style to fit
