Heading up to Murrayshall this coming weekend for a mates stag-do. We're booked to play the Murrayshall course on saturday afternoon and the Lynedoch course on sunday morning. Anyone here played either - the website doesn't exactly give away a huge amount of information!!

Cheers.

I played it 5 years ago.

quite a few par 5's if my memory serves me right.

a few ok holes but nothing to write home about.

It was free as i was a guest of Visit Scotland, not sure i would pay t play there.

Not much help am i :)

A few people on here seem to slate the place Del but I actually enjoyed it both times I played.

I think you'll have fun.

I used to be a member at Murrayshall up until a few years ago. It is a good test of golf with a few quirky holes with trees in the middle of the fairways (6, 7 & 12) and a par 5 dogleg which requires no more than a mid iron off the tee. Lynedoch is a much tighter course which winds its way up the side of the hill and has spectacular views. My advice would be to take a buggy!
As long as it isn't too wet the course should be fine, but if there has been rain, it doesn't drain well. If you are staying in the hotel, the food is fantastic. Have a good weekend.

Was washed out on the day we were due to play it - quite a few years ago. Staff were incredibly helpful though and arranged an alternative venue - Blairgowrie!

Cheers guys. We're getting golf on the saturday afternoon then dinner, bed and breakfast, then golf again on the sunday as part of a very well priced package (circa £100.00 from memory), so as long as the weather plays ball I'm looking forward to it.

Played the two of them last month, same sort of deal as you are getting without the dinner for £79.
We played the Lynedoch on the Sun PM and the Murrayshall on the Monday morning.
As prev mentioned Lynedoch is shorter and tighter but I really enjoyed it, you need to think your way around.
Murrayshall opens up a bit and you can get the driver out more often.
Two cracking courses in excellent condition imo, we were lucky with the weather tho. (sunshine both days)
We got buggys both days £12.50 per head.

only played Murrayshall when it was wet - and it seemed awfully long!
altho i did birdie the 18th so was a happy bunny

its OK - will be fine for a stag do tho!

Had my own stag do there Del. Couple of good courses. As said not spectacular but very enjoyable. Hotel, service and food good. Lyndoch you need a buggy as its tight but steep. Wait for the 15th, madness.
20 of us went and not one person complained about anything, highly unusual for my mates.

I'm a member there Del playing in a stable ford on Saturday morning. The course has been saturated the last few weeks and with the rain this week I doubt it will be open.

Great course though but phone and check its open.
