Murray V Verdasco

Re: Murray needs a Miracle....

Taking nothing away from the Spaniard, a more worthy opponent won't let him back into the match going down 2 sets, so sort it!!

Re: Murray needs a Miracle....

What a monumental effort from Andy Murray. There's not many players that would come back from being 2 sets down. Ok, some might say he should not have been there, but he showed sheer guts and determination. Verdasco would not lay down and fought right to the end but Murray showed the will to win!

Re: Murray needs a Miracle....

Fighting Scottish spirit, good on ye son.

I think he showed that a the post match interview - grumpy and couldn't wait to run away!

Though interview questions were a bit naff! Could have been a Jim McLean moment! :D

Re: Murray needs a Miracle....

Came through over an opponent correctly described as 'dangerous' today.

Semi will again be tough battling 140mph serves! Though he's one of the 2 best returners in the game.

If he makes the Final, I'm almost certain he'll be up against the other 'best returner' in Djok. Wouldn't be too surprised if Del Potro's injury today causes problem. They must have been some magic pills!

As long as his next opponent isn't left handed, he should make it a bit easier on himself. That was the first lefty he's played in 9 months apparently.

Not so much the lefty apparently, but absolutely huge amounts of spin! Seems to be a Spanish trait!

Re: Murray needs a Miracle....

Another cool Murray stat - he becomes only the 5th player (in the modern era?) to reach 5 consecutive Wimbledon Men's semi-finals (2009-2013), the others being Federer, Borg, McEnroe and Edberg. Pretty good company if you ask me.
