murcia region...

My Dad bought one last year in Alhama on a Nicklaus designed course. Its only newly built as he bought off plan but the course looks mint. I think there is about 5 or 6 different resorts in that area.

My m8's apartment I use is in Playa Flamenca Costa Blanca but easily close enough to Murcia.

This isn't his just posted for the Map.

As for any other accomodation I can't comment. Playa is ideal for access from Murcia or Alicante Airports. Its also close to the beach if you like beaches?

As for golf I have played and would recommend the following courses :

Hacienda del Alamo
Lo Romero
La Finca
La Calla
Hacienda Riquelme

Have also played Roda but didn't think much of it.

I use www.thegolfactory.es to book my golf. They do some great deals. http://www.thegolffactory.es/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57&Itemid=57

Any questions just shout.

I used to own a villa in El Mojon, which was close San Pedro/Murcia etc.

Sold it about 4 years ago and not been over since. There are some good courses, and in the current climate you should be able to get some great deals.

The only courses that I thought were well over priced (4 years ago) were the 3 in the Villamartin area (Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas)

Played there for the last couple of summer breaks, so played a few courses. Also, La Manga is 15 mins from the airport so that's a good start!

Firstly there is Roda Golf, which is less than 10 minutes from the airport. It's a nice track with a very smart clubhouse. 3 lakes and a tic sawgrass style island green makes it a nice leg stretch.

Also played Desert Springs, which is an awesome desert style course. Played twice and it's chewed me up both times but was awesome condition.

The Valle de Este resort is a superb resort, great course with lots of elevation changes and challenging holes. Buggy essential...

Aguilion is great, cut into the side of a mountain, with all par 3s being carries over ravines.

Not played Jack's trail, but heard they are all of a good standard.

Roads are great, v little traffic, but found nightlife quiet by our standards!!!

Were back in October for 3rd trip, it's certainly better value than Portugal or the costa del crime.

Any questions let me know.
