So ja,

Woke up this morning looking like a chipmunk. Wife laughing her backside off until she realised what it could actually be. Now since there are no more drop in medical centres in Leeds, NHS direct have told me to get to my doctors in the morning for a proper diagnosis. Called my mom in South Africa to check if I was ever inoculated but she cannot remember as it was 35 years ago. There was no MMR back in the day. Now I have already had the snip so not worried about losing the ability to have kids. Seems like one of those pointless diseases which doesn't do much harm on its own but the possible complications are pretty bad. Been advised to stay away from people until we are 100% certain as to what it is. Would hate to come into contact with a pregnant person.

A week of boredom awaits I think

Damn! Mumps and off for the week. Bored already. Reading the Lord of the Rings, checking the European Tour site to get my team right, watching the History Channel, Sky Movies and of course Sky Sports.

In childhood normally (but not always) a mild self limiting illness.

In adults, it can make your voice go up, and not because of a sore throat. Rest, fluids, paracetemol and warm/cool compresses, according to taste, on affected area(s). Stay away from pregnant or could be pregnant women. You are contagious for about 10 days after symptoms appear. Some people get a light sensitivity with headache (like in measles).
