Moving clubs next year - Wigan / Bolton area - Any recomendations?

Hi i don,t think Hart Common is £900? about £700 i think, i'm a pay and play member there £125 a year then you pay £10 or £12 each time you play weekends being more expensive suits me as i only get to play once a fortnight and don,t play much winter golf.
Course is very testing, greens reasonable and open all year, great practice facilities in 9 hole par 3 course, 3 full seperate practice holes, driving range and practice green. excellent food and bar, but only very small changing rooms. I am just off to play there now actually club champs today.
is it HAIGH HALL you refer to in your originol post?

The 900 figure is one i have heard from an ex member. It could be wrong. I did ring up last year and remembered being flabbergasted at the price though, so i know it is not cheap.

Yes i was referring to Haigh hall in my OP. Cheap and cheerful definitely, but a few major problems that have serious annoyed me this year. I am loathed to criticise the work that greenskeepers do (especially in this years weather) but i think that a combination of poor funding and a lack of planning have resulted in the worst greens i have ever played on. It has got to a point were i make no real effort in putting as you just know that holing out is more down to luck than skill.

Shame really as the course is in cracking nick tee to green.

I think it's £840 this year. if you fancy a game up there after work or one Sunday.... No problem:thup:

Thanks pal

I am booked up for the next wee while, but could probably manage an after work game.

I am sure my golf partner (who is also looking moving) would be up for it (if that would be ok?)

I will give you a shout
