Motocaddy - Poor Customer Service

on Xmas day but they were not presents that I bought for myself!

If I had bought it for myself but wanted to open it on Xmas day I would've made sure I checked any expiry date on the cash back offer as they aren't open ended

As I have said repeatedly, I should have checked the detail, it was my mistake not to. I was surprised by the lack of flexibility shown in the circumstances. Some on here seem to see my point, others think I should just suck it up. Fair enough, it's interesting and useful to get the differing opinions.

Incidentally, sometimes when giving/receiving a gift it's better if the person who knows what to get goes to the shop, especially if a lot of money is involved, even if they're the one receiving the present. That's also useful if they are part-funding it with vouchers made out in their name. Doesn't mean they get to open it right away! :)

If you were German none of this would have happened as they open their presents before Christmas Day. That will teach you and one in the face for those that automatically assume the good guys won in WW2. Not looking such a good result now is it???

It's only 8th Jan but already we have a contender for post of the year

I dunno dude, i think Jeebus needs some credit. If it wasn't for him, we would all be Jewish and would have worked like mugs 2 weeks ago. Jeebus, an unsung hero in my eyes.

poor service is a bit harsh... if you are going to buy anything with cashback then you should read the terms first.

Getting a bit fed up with this, to be honest. Yip, turns out it's on their website. Haven't been denying that. Indeed, motocaddy referred me to this very page when I contacted them. Sadly, for me, I hadn't seen it before making the purchase. I pointed them to a different page on the website that doesn't mention the 14 day deadline. Unfortunately for me, that page links to this one... if only I'd clicked that link!

Anyone else out there who wants to state the obvious and blame me for not checking out the detail doesn't need to post - I've already conceded that several times.

I believe FD has already answered this point. 6 times.

Personally I can't see the problem.

We have 5 minutes to find our ball, we have to be on the tee in time, vouchers expire, if you buy a ticket for an event it starts when it starts, if you're not there tough luck.

Sorry but criticising Motocaddy in any way for this is out of order in my opinion. Their policy is clear, they had a time-limited promotion that was clearly advertised. It's not their job to lose money just to be friendly, 14 days was clearly advertised, they have absolutely no moral obligation whatsoever to give away money outside of this.

Have to defend Motocaddy on this Post. They serviced my trolley now for past 6 years for nothing (I live 5 miles from their HQ & some of the guys are members at my club, but wouldn't matter either way). Brought a new Lithium battery 2 years ago & got a £50 trade-in for my original battery in a promotion. Products are top notch & innovative and always seem to score well in GM Test Days.

Sorry you've had a bad experience but shouldn't taint the whole company with one Tar Brush. Great British company knocking the opposition out of the water :whoo:

Interesting that they can show good customer service and a bit of goodwill to you but not to a new customer.

Agree there is no legal obligation to honour the cashback offer but customer service can be the differentiator between success and failure in a competitive market. Like I said earlier, £50 is nothing to them.

I would agree as I posted initially that FD's choice of words in her title were wrong, maybe she could of put the title differently, Motocaddy - Miserable So & So's or whatever, but all she was hoping for was bit of goodwill from Motocaddy as it was over the christmas period, I 100% agree in my opinion they've not done anything wrong, but there is always different ways to handle these things and for one customer(FD) Motocaddy have not been as forthcoming or understanding as she'd of hoped.

Quoting rules is fine, but there is no way on this planet you or me or anyone else play's life rules 100%

Yes I agree but I don't understand all the references to Christmas and "goodwill". They ran a promotion that expired , it's business.

What about the lack of information given from the retailer? Why aren't they being blamed for not making it clear?

Companies often go beyond what is required of them in order to provide customer satisfaction. I tend to buy from those companies again. Motocaddy chose not to do that in this case.

As explained above by someone the Motocaddy office dealing with the cash backs was closed over the holiday period and so thought they may of extended the offer for people to take advantage or people were away for Christmas and when they got home someone had bought them a new trolley and on opening it they found the offer, whatever the reason Motocaddy didn't have to, but could of been a bit more understanding and even offered a discount off a new bag or something.

I had one of there original bags that the a zip broke on the waterproof pocket, I couldn't get it repaired, contacted Motocaddy to see if they could help, they could'nt, but as the bag was 3 years old, they offered me anew one with 25% off, they didn't have to, but they did,

exactly. Over xmas i went into tesco and bought a steam generator iron that on the shelf had 60 quid off! Get to checkout and it rings through at full price.. I question this, take a store staff member to the place i got it. He points out the promotion ended the day before, but as it was still there he honored the price. I know my rights, he did not have to do that.

Anyway, FD was having a rant, i don't blame her for doing so!

Nail on head! If I was the salesperson involved I'd be inclined to suggest we met each other halfway and refund £25 as a gesture of goodwill.

I too bought a moto just before xmas eve. I also didn't rush to sort the claim out as I don't have a printer to sort the paperwork out to post off etc so was waiting until I returned to work.
Imagine my panic when I read the print about the 14 days! I just got it back to them on the 14th day!

I have had an email from them saying about a problem with the serial number but nevertheless its looks as though it's being processed.
thankfully
