Most Stableford Points

Lots of people getting 40 plus and only doing once or twice. Lots of people don't like the staple ford scoring but I have pals who tell me that they shoot 40 odd on a regular basis and that for me is where it is fundamentally wrong. I can understand folk not wanting to enter comps but to keep playing with yer pals week after week and shooting 40 odd points off a handicap of 20 plus is just so wrong.

My mate off of +1 shot 4 under round our place on Saturday in a roll up stableford. He "blobbed" the SI 18 hole with a bogey 5.

What a hacker!!!

- a 'recent' answer for everything!!!!

maybe you missed #15 before your anecdotal story

I could have said it was last month, but that wouldn't have been true

Shouldn't have any impact on your opinion though?

it didnt:confused:

What are you two going on about  I understood Robobum's first post but from there it's all gone a bit weird. I'm probably being dim.

I have scored 45 points once and scored 43 on a course I had not played before at the GM Centenary Qualifying Event. Have shot in the 40s a few times as my handicap has come down.

Most competitions that I have entered you need to be in the 40s to win (and it is not always high handicappers who score that well).

no idea, not a fan of stableford, bit of a hackers charter

The thread was about how many points not if you like stableford or not , medal play is the purest form of golf , whats your best medal score , mine is 69 , -1 in a comp , -3 in a knockabout

48 points at Wimbledon Common. Won an honours board event. Mind you if you weren't scoring 41+ most weekends you were never in contention. These days at Royal Ascot 40 will walk most events and 36-39 usually good for a top three if not the win

46 points, which earned me a handicap cut of 2.7, from 17 to 14 playing handicap. Gross score was 79 (7 over), which I have beaten twice since.

Best ever for me was 52 pts off a handicap of 23, but off a handicap like that it has little or no meaning, at the time though I was dead chuffed. Last season I shot 41 pts 72 gross, par 71, runner up shot 38 pts lowest gross score was 71 from a +2 handicapper. The course I am at presently will not see many scores better than 37 the average will be 32 pts... hence I have a reputation as being a bit of a bandit as I was 2nd in another big competition having lost it on count back (and ended up doing a speech for that one as well .. I hate speaking!) . Lowest gross ever was 65 in medal play.
