The big difference in law is that Maddie is a juvenile in the eyes of the law, and Corrie McKeague is an adult. If a juvenile is reported missing there is a presumption that they cannot look after themselves and need finding, for want of a better expression. In the case of an adult that presumption does not necessarily apply; indeed even if traced the adult can say "I'm not missing, just choosing not to be contacted" and any enquiry stops, and there is no entitlement for the person reporting them missing to be told of the "Missing" person's whereabouts.

As to why the Met is throwing resources at it when the issue was abroad is as much a mystery to me as it is to everyone else.

Child neglect charges......they would be getting of lightly. The charge should be a lot closer to the most serious that anyone can ever face. Unbelievable after all this time......their still walking free. I hope there is a god
 
While public funds are being consumed a very substantial private trust fund has grown , but I can't discover its purpose!

Why is is nonsense ?

Plenty of people around the country have been seen to not be able to take care of their children and had them taken away from them - the McCanns actions contributed to their girl being taken - severe neglect of a child.
 
If the Met put in a good case for extra funding, and it was approved good luck to them. Let’s be honest, extra funding isn’t just handed out on a whim.

As for punishing the McCanns, I think they’re probably punishing themselves every day.

Far shorter in its initial period although very little could compare to the McCann case. The police have reacted when new evidence has been found including a recent heavy search of the area where he was last known to be. The belief is he was killed by accident by a local with farm machinery and he was hidden / buried near to where he was staying.

what parent goes to a foreign country, leaves twins and an infant and goes out to dinner and the lash?

To my mind its unthinkable, when the children are that young.


Then when interviewed, as a potential suspect she refuses to answer 48 questions put to her - now regardless of her anger at being a suspect, surely you would answer any question fully in the hope that may help bring your child back? Instead she refused to answer.

what about the file on the sex offenders register on her dad? looked over a lot.. how was he ruled out as a suspect so quickly

wasnt it talked about that they often used their position to get hold of meds to help their kids "sleep" but gave maddie too much on that night..

smoke and mirrors.. only 2 people know where she is.. and they are the jokers who keep robbing the tax payer

Indeed a couple may have crossed that line.
