Money Idea

On a similar vein as a kid growing up on the River Spey I spent my spare time finding fishing lures that had been snagged and lost by fisherman, cleaned then up a bit then sold them back to the fishermen. Didn't exactly turn me into Bill Gates though but I did become a pretty decent swimmer! :o

Better in McD's than looking for golf balls I reckon.

As a long shot a stint on those crab boats off Alaska pays well if you can stand being seasick, frozen, exhausted and under constant risk of drowning for 4 weeks!

Welcome to the real world Mono! ;)

I sold 100 balls on Ebay for only £17. I can't see much profit in this venture for you Mono.

Grouse beating starts on 12th August. Head for the North York Moors for a few weeks work walking the moors? Easy money!

I think the problem with this idea is that most places sell them graded depending on their standard and I'm not sure how interested most people would be for anything other than Grade A's. I guess you could try local bric a brac and junk shops or driving ranges but I think most golfers are still pretty choosy even when it comes t lake balls and refurbs. I'd be interested how you can come to get so many so regularly

Why dont you try cleaning cars. Ask at the club if you can set up in the car park on a weekend. If you do a good job word will get around.
Id pay to have my car washed while Im on the course.

Or even better than cleaning cars why not set up in the club car park with a club/trolley cleaning service? all you need is a bucket of soapy water a nylon washing up brush, sponge 'n' a couple of towels. Providing you do not charge silly prices I'm sure you would do well at weekends, worth a try. It's nice to see someone trying to earn a bob or two instead of sponging off mum and dad. good luck mate. :D

Not sure the golf balls would work, even Tesco sell lake balls now. Club cleaning might work, you'd need a hose to do the cars but maybe the club would let you borrw one. Not sure what the set u is like where you play, but a mate of mine used to have a hut selling drinks etc half way round the course. You'd probably have to pay the course a fee / percentage but he did OK out of it.

Good on you for trying

I went looking today and found about 130 balls. 20 prov1/x 30 nikes callaways and titliest good balls and about 40 practice balls.

Where were you looking for balls- on the range?! If so I hope you wore a helmet. Or did you get your snorkel out for the course water hazzard?

I really can't believe this, either your club membership consists of a considerable amount of blind golfers unable to find anything in the rough, or as I say you've raided the range! There probably isn't even 130 balls in all the rough at my course, let alone that many you could find without spending a week or two looking!

his 'club' is bootle muni golf course, there are dozens of scallies/chavs walking that course looking for balls.
you get offred all sorts of balls from these kids on every round, for 1 lad to find 130 balls is ,in my opinion, very good work!

We dont have a range and also ive dredged one water hazard and looking in a ditch that know one will look in if there ball has gone in it.

Be careful Mono.

I may be wrong but I believe that officially any balls lost and/or abandoned on a golf course belong to the club.

Picking up and keeping found balls during the course of a round is generally OK, but if you are going onto a course with the specific intent to find and keep golf balls then some clubs may consider that trespass and theft. Selling them on could be viewed as selling stolen property.

great idea mono
get it registered as your idea incase anyone has the same idea and steals it from you
theres a place called ebay you can sell them :D :D :D

Bleeding hell mono this has been going on for at least 25yrs on courses in liverpool and probably everywhere else iup and down the country!
