Bit of a joke, Harrington should't be there and Sergio Garcia is in no shape to Vice Captain.

Molinari and Donald I can live with but leaving out Casey, a proven matchplay winner, could be a dodgy call.

Actually quite like the idea of Garcia as a vice captain, plenty of passion and experience and he does not have to actually hit a ball so he may not go off the deep end.

I'm pretty happy with the choices including Sergio (although HID did ask why we have so many VC's) and inevitably someone was going to miss out and you could make a case for and against any of the contenders. The deed is done and he'll have to stand or fall by his choices in the same way Faldo did.

You're half right.

I would've taken Casey before Harrington. And the comment that Americans don't want to meet paddy is nonsense in my opinion.

Since when does it make sense to leave out a player in the top 10 in the world. Never. End of. Bad choice.

Harrington might do very well with a partner, but I putting money on him losing in the singles.

Paul Casey was left out because the management of the European Tour was really p***ed off with him ignoring their events to play the US Tour and the Fed Ex playoffs. Justin Rose had more of a case to play than Casey. Still, what would Corey Pavin give to have either of them with American passports?
