I will paint the scenario:

Playing a comp, on walking to my ball , see it sat behind molehill. It is not touching the molehill but is as close as you can get without it touching. When I take my stance I am not stood in the molehill , however if I take my shot the ball when hit will have to go through the molehill as will my club. What are my options please ? Or is it just tough luck.

Thanks

You have interference if the molehill interferes with you area of intended swing ie If the club will hit it when making your stroke.

You do not if the ball would hit it, but the club would miss.

The club would hit the molehill after the ball is struck , does that still count as making the stroke?

Thanks for your advice so far mate.

Same applies incidently if the molehill has been wholly or partially flattened. Providing the area of intended swing is physically impacted.

I presume if it has been flattened but the club would normally pass over it on the upswing then no relief is available? Just being in your eyeline isn't enough.

That's correct.
