mobile phones with golf gps?

Can anyone help me with a phone and network that has the golf gps on it. Getting a mobile but would like one that has the course capability.i'm a novice with phones. cost would be helpful too

I have a feeling these aps are not allowed in competions so I would rather spend my money on a Skycaddie and a basic phone.

As long as your course has a local rule allowing use then they're fine in competition. One that's widely acclaimed on here is freecaddie. Works on a wide variety of phones including windows mobile, iphone, android etc

cheapest mobile deals i found when looking a while back was at www.mobiles.co.uk

they're owned by carphone warehouse, but you obviously don't get the benefits of buying from a shop if something goes wrong.

If you do a site search, you should find lots of info as it's been discussed many many times, and the Golf Monthly mag had a feature on all the different apps a few months back.

Our club has a local rule allowing dedicated GPS devices to be used in comps.

However, because many mobiles now have the potential to have illegal applications loaded (e.g. Iphone apps - compass, spirit level, wind direction ?? etc) then all phones with GPS capability have been banned for competition use.

You pays your money ....

Like it or not I think this is the way its going to go. With the capability of the Smartphone increasing , the possibilities for "apps" becomes endless. Its not what you've downloaded, its what you might.
