Anyone play or demo'd this driver?

I ask as I just bought one brand new this morning for £99 plus £8 p+p online from a Pro Shop. 10.5 in stiff, going to 10.5 will hopefully be a little more forgiving than my current 9.5.

Seemed like such a good deal I couldn't resist it.

This model has been in the back of my mind since GM's JezzE hit every fairway with one back in January at the Jubilee match - mo mean feat.

Like the simple way to make it fade or draw bias. As I tend to wander left I shall be setting mine up for a slight fade!

Looks like the Bridgestoen J33 will be up for sale soon!

I had one for around a month similar deal as you got so i sold it on,it was a great driver the sound quite muted compared to my cobra which maybe is a good thing,
I had the 9.5 version which lauched a little lower than i used to so i imagine 10.5 being perfect.i did fiddle around with the weights they do work if you going through a patch of leaking the ball left or right, although putting the weights right at the back 3/4 i think didnt make me hit it higher,i think its the most well made club out there,i just prefer my cobra over anything

enjoy!

I remember Jezz hitting one like a pro at Royal Ascot in the GM challenge. I didn't want to buy one just bury his one somewhere. He hit it miles and straight every time.

It looked a good club and I can see some benefit in having moveable weights but I'm a bit of a tinkerer so I'm not sure I'd settle for any particular set up. Chances are once a few drives went left or right I'd be blaming the club set up. At least with the normal drivers it is definitely the numpty on the end.

Yes birdieman, I got one to demo for the magazine, still have it too.
I love it, I have left it at neutral where it is fantastic and I hit it quite a trip without it sounding over engineered or uncultured :) I tried the bias and it didnt work for me, the ball just didnt respond the same way and its flight was not as consistent. What shaft did you get? (fujikura etc?)
Mine is a 9.5 degree and it does go high but Ive always hit it high without losing distance so am more than happy with it....especially at the price I paid...nowt! haha 99 is a great price though, no driver should ever come down from 289 to 99 in the space of a year.

Brendy I have an Aldila VS Proto 65g stiff flex shaft in it.

I am a hypocrite, wasn't so long ago I was knocking MWT in the TM 425 I had and here I am again with MWT in a Mizuno instead!

Regarding price it just showa how ridiculously overpriced new drivers are that, as Brendy says, within a year they can knock £200 off!

Birdieman,

Bought one of these back in the early part of the year. Had it fitted and ended up with the Aldila VS Proto 65g Reg shaft and 10.5° head.

I have ended up with the weights in the Neutral position and although I have tried other settings they haven't done anything amazing so I've just left it at Neutral.

Shaft is a good shaft and I have managed a respectable 66% fairways hit according to my stats in SS2.

You've certainly picked up a good bargain there at that price. Nice shape to the head, uncluttered shape and design so I like it a lot.

If ever there was an advert for a club, it was Jezz's antics with this at Royal Ascot! In the right hands (not mine, obviously) I'd say it was a gem.

Fujikura360 shaft in mine, and its definatly one of the longer, straighter hitting drivers ive owned.

I was commenting on how much I like the fuji shaft in my 3 wood. I passed on the online offer for Nike drivers because I wouldn't know if the diamana (mitsubishi) would suit me (as Grafalloy didn't!).

I would however buy a driver untested with a fujikura shaft....anyone know if these are stock shafts on anything other than TM?

Did you get a hit with my one at massereene? I cant remember but if you didnt you should have asked. Ive had a fair amount of fellas ask for a hit with it. It seems to have a bit of a cult following from those that dare stray from callaway and titleist. :D

Smange - Broddersgolfshop on Ebay. They have a couple left I think.
They have 3000+ feedback with a very good score so I'm confident they are bona fide being an experienced ebayer myself.

Birdieman - Do me a favour. Email the guy and ask him if he is based at driving range at the back of the Copcut Elm pub. This is a driving range 2miles from my house (Worcester) and he has three of these for sale and Mizuno MX950's at a silly price too.

They may well be the genuine article, but a friend of mine says that he knows someone who bought clubs of him before an one of the heads flew off! If you saw the place you would understand why I am so sceptical as the majoity of his stock in there is very old and yet he has these current range products at VERY cheap prices.

Hope I'm wrong mate, but please check.

Thanks for the tip PPE. I don't know if this is your Worcester fellow or not.
Anyway, I think I'll see what the club looks like before I start hassling the guy!
As long as the component parts are genuine I'm ok.

Looked at his 3 -ve feedbacks, none of them are to do with stuff being fake. 99.7% over 3000+ trades is a good score so people are pretty happy with what he's selling.

Will keep you posted, club is supposed to arrive tomorrow but with Xmas mail I expect it'll take longer.

Question:
I have seen the MX560 driver on sale for £99 recently. How has this gone down from £199 in such a short time as I haven't had my one for very long and it puts you off buying new equipment.

Answer:

Unfortunately this is difficult to predict. If a model is a little overstocked (for a number of reasons), the price falls at some stage to compensate. Obviously this is annoying for anyone that pays full price when the product is launched.

As we do our best to make this doesn't happen, it's hard for consumers to assess the situation in advance. Unfortunately for you (and Mizuno), this time the winners are the people picking up a very good piece of equipment at £99.

We'll be doing what we can to minimise how often and to what extent this happens in the future.

This is from the Mizuno website

http://golf.mizunoeurope.com/resources/faqsearch.php?id=1461&cat=&search=

Dont worry they are all real, Mizuno just cocked up. I know this is for the 560 but the same goes for the 600.
