Mizuno JPX 850 Driver

Would like to give one of these a go. Fantastic looking club. Strangely I've not hit a mizuno driver since my old MightyBig, which is one of my favourite clubs ever.

It would have to be pretty special for me to drop my current Cleveland though.

I've never felt any attraction to the Mizuno driver range and this does nothing to change my mind. Strange how a company that make so many quality irons that I do like have always struggled in the driver market, especially against the other big names

still waiting? or is it hearsay

I would expect that if Luke changed his contract with Mizuno he might use there woods . i understande he has a bag, cap and 11 or 12 club deal with them at the moment. Im also told TM will pay players to use their drivers anyway and if there was little difference i can guess which option he would go for...Kerching;)

Was down ordering my MP4's today and the Mizuno rep was in as well with the driver and 3 wood.

Had a little hit with it but for me the results were;t that good, but more to do the sued Loafers and tweed Jacket i had on!!!

However the young lad who training to be a PGA pro had a crack with it.... wow. he hit it Miles. The machine was saying 285 carry which i always take with a pinch of salt, but he was hitting well. the Driving range at Fairways is only 220 to the bushes at the back, behind that is an access road and then the start of their 9 hole course with a large oak tree just on the edge. he was comfortably clearing the tree, easily 250 away and the range uses the worst balls around the ones that drop distance the longer club you hit. I would not have thought it possible.

He then tried it against his SLDR, which he had told be before was the longest driver he'd ever hit. The Mizuno went further and that was with the stock stiff shaft in.

I have the MP600 and 650, and liked the look feel sound and how the Fast Track was simpler to use then any other movable weight tech. But hearing that high ting off the club head it's very off putting for me. I like my drivers to have a thud then a ting.
