can't give any advice on them as never even tried them, but some i've seen didn't look all that TBH.

There used to be two guys at my club that were well into them one had the full set, woods, tour bag the lot. I think he's shifted them all on now.

Just get out and try them as see what you think

Had several Vega wedges which are pretty similar. They look beautiful, feel soft and have great grooves/spin but I found the shafts in them very very stiff, Shimada I think they were. Moved them on, I don't think I'd ever be able to activate them so as much as I loved them (and in particular the 60 degree, which I guess I was never giving the full beans) I moved to Vokeys and haven't looked back.

Some might say a vanity purchase. But they are beautiful to lok at!

I’ve got a set of Miura irons... went to golf principles for a bag fitting and didn’t look at the irons I was hitting and combined with the shafts they were the best package.
I had a set of mizuno mp5 before them and the miuras are even better feel wise...

Hope that helps

I use CB501’s... probably shouldn’t be though. I would say they feel similar to a Mizuno iron but maybe a little more solid feeling?!

Why didn't you just put in a "softer" shaft?

Fair question, to be frank I knew nothing about golf before joining this forum, I didn't know you could reshaft clubs and they'd be perfectly fine, I didn't know that a Shimada Stepless Tour shaft feels like an iron bar in the hands of a mere mortal. I've learned a lot since being on here! And I used to lust after Muiras (the clubs, strangely the Lambo never did anything for me) but after my Vega attempt decided to stick with something for the everyman.

OP: If you bought them online I'd be concerned but if you go get fitted for the right shaft OP, you'll have probably the sexiest irons at your club, and I for one would tip the cap to you if I saw them in your bag. Happy golfing!

I've had both Vega and Miura irons and wedges and I'd disagree with the above!

Miura irons and wedges feel a little softer and 'heavier' (even though the itons aren't!). Miura wedges may well be a tiny amount overweight, to allow for grinding. If I was trying to compare either/both with other makes, I'd say Miura wedges feel and play similar to Vokeys (solid but white soft off the face), while Vegas are more like the older Clevelands or cast wedges (lighter and 'brighter' off the face). Same actually applies to irons, though a lt more of the feel seems to be through the particular shaft. I had KBS Tours in Vega Blades, Rifle 6.0 in Miura blade, S300s in Miura CB201s (felt dull!) which I swapped out replacing them with PX5.5s (much brighter feel but hard on my hands on links courses!).

I've had half a dozen sets of TM300s, which were forged by Miura, for Taylormade, just before he started up his own brand and currently have 2 sets of McGregor PCB Tours from a little earlier that are equivalent to CB301s. So i'm definitely a Miura iron fan! I would be happy playing Miura irons (well I do!) and Vega wedges as I prefer their 'bright' feel.

While Miura did do work for 'OEMs', Vega is actually the 'house brand' of forging house Kyoei which sells its heads (blanks) to anyone who will buy them. Lots of 'specialist' Japanes wedge makers use their heads as a base, as, I believe, does ICYGolf for his highly recommendable service! Cooper (in Scotland) certainly use Kyoei heads - their advertising blurb even featured the same pics as thet of KYoie/Vega last time I looked!

Hope that helps. If you want any more specific info, feel free to PM me.

I'm pretty sure Vokey are cast wedges so a strange comparison for a "purest" wedge. Also I believe although I could be wrong that Cooper are no longer trading. Certainly they never replied to my enquiry at the tale end of last year!

I looked briefly at Miura irons before buying my Bridgestones. What manly put me off was their shot gun approach to lofts, and gapping. Now what they were specced at might work in theory, but on paper, it just looked bonkers. No thanks. Not for me.

Indeed Vokey are cast - but from particularly soft alloy/'recipe'. It's that softness that is the feel I got with Miura wedges too. With Vegas, I got a slightly 'brighter' feel. I wouldn't describe it as 'hard' but certainly not as soft as Miuras (or Vokeys). Oh and to pander to the 'must be forged' market (primarily in Japan), there is a forged (Japan only I believe) Vokey range.

Doesn't/Wouldn't surprise me if Cooper has ceased trading. Tough business recently! AGT website still has a page about their clubs and the sourcing of their blanks, but it may be an 'orphan' page. http://www.appliedgolftechnology.co.uk/agt-introduces-new-cooper-brand-3/

Cooper web page was coming up last I checked but they never once replied to any enquiries I sent as I was looking for new wedges last year. Previously had a couple of Cooper wedges that I liked.
