My club only stocks Callaway balls.
I'd like to try the AD333 Tour ball just to see if it's all it's cracked up to be..
I don't want to go trawling around other clubs just to buy a sleeve....
AG have them by the dozen - but they also have a 2 pack that is given away when you buy a dozen.
I asked if I could just buy this 2 pack to try - no deal.

Guess I'll just have to wait until I go somewhere that sells sleeves or wait until I find one...

Should the big chains be prepared to split dozens into sleeves..?

Surely your pro shop must be missing out on loads of business if only stocking one manufacturer ?

My pro says that the profit on golf balls is the worst mark up in the shop, apparently on a box of 12 Srixon soft feel balls he's lucky to make £1.50 selling at about £17. Golf balls seem to be the equivalent of the supermarkets loss leader

They probably sell more of them than anything else though, so a little profit X a lot = a few quid.:mmm:

Your pro must be telling porkies (and ripping you off at the same time). Our pro sells soft feels for £14 and still makes a good profit.

Surely it's worth the gamble at £27 a box Ian? I'd be amazed if they are a crap ball

Bet it also depends how many they buy from there supplier...

A couple of weeks ago I played up at Strathaven GC and they were giving away 2 free with every sleeve of 3 bought.

Definitely worth a try in my opinion, great ball.

Bit of a trek I know but Silvermere were doing the two ball trial packs. I might be heading out that way over the weekend and if so I'll pick a pack up if they still have any and you can settle up at H4H or when I see you next (your credit rating is good). I'll let you know if you haven't sourced any before then

Really ? That surprises me

I thought that the selling of Pro V's was very good, profit for pro shops

My wife use to work at a club in Wokingham and told me what their mark up on balls were and it was definitely more than bandied about by some. Their problem came from things like Motocaddy which had a specified RRP and they have a fixed retail price too so very little room for manoeuvre
