ok i know you guys said prepare for it to get worse before it gets better but this is just ridiculous.
I didnt play wknd as dad didnt feel up to it and i havent been to range since wednesday due to tiredness and an aching back from work.
So i went tonight and ive lost my whole swing. Ok i know im trying to impliment swing changes but i only hit about 2-3 out of 10 what i was fairly happy with. Also i had to slow things right down it got that bad at one point and ive lost almost 30yds off my 7i on some of the hits.
I kept persavering and getting similar results so thought i would try get my driver out and see what happens! oh my god it was awful left left left left by a good 50yds each time. I know he told me stick to the shorter irons for a bit whilst practing now i know why haha not one came out the sweet spot didnt here that nice ting noise once more of a dull thud.
Then i went for my trusty sw 50yrd pitch everyone came out the toe so i gave up after about 6 haha. Went back to the 7i and then same as before about 3 out of 10 rest where either topped or just pushed so far right as i think it came out the toe it was rediculous.
My next lesson is saturday im not sure whether to keep persavering with the range couple more times this week or just wait until then. Hopefully it was just a one off

Having gone through a swing change and then not being able to hit the ball.....(yes I mean i couldn't hit the ball but the divots were amazing) I know it takes time for the swing changes to bed in and I would resist the temptation to have lesson after lesson....

IMHO its probably to soon by the sounds of it for a full paid lesson....maybe a 5 min chat with the pro would help!

yeah he jus wants to make sure im swinging flatter as i was swinging far to steep. so i went away for 2 weeks to work on it. after saturday when i remember properly what i was shown i will knuckle down and practice more before going back. I think my biggest problem is i hate the driving range!

someone famous once said, and I paraphrase "A good golf swing is something you borrow, it always has to go back"

persevere and if you build it, it will come.................another paraphrase:rolleyes:

I'm going through something similar, albeit not to your extent while I re-learn Stack &Tilt.

At the minute my swing is very mechanical while I bed in the changes to my swing. It's getting better and is being reflected in my scores.

I'm getting a little steep on a few shots at the minute, but I know what I'm doing wrong (not extending up through impact), but know the fix.

Don't worry fella you'll get there. I had a bad range session last week, but played pretty solid at the weekend.

If a pro has suggested changes, stick with it. It'll be worth it in the long term.

stick with it and personally (from experience) I probably wouldnt have a round until you are semi confident its bedded in. I found that a lack of confidence made me go back to my not great but better than the new swing and basically ended up wasting the previous lesson & the range time I had put in

perseverance in the face of crapness is the key ;)

Well, I think that conservatively I have hit may be 1200 shanks in the last three weeks, and what wasn't shanked, was topped or thinned. On video it looks better, but the results are dreadful. Stick with it, and don't expect immediate results is what I get told. Hoping it is true.

I had a great range session last week and rocked up to the roll up on Saturday full of confidence. Finished with a miserable 25 points and 4 of them came at the last. Couldn't hit a thing and everything I'd practiced went to pot. I know what I'm trying to do and on the range its great but there is no trust between the range swing and the course swing. I've a lesson on Thursday so I hope he's going to say we're on the right lines and can move it forward a stage and give me a few refreshers
