Military Golf!

A bit like adding a smiley face? or calling it "banter"?

I am very new to this forum (but not forums in general) and had picked up the "tone" on a couple of recent threads. Maybe it is all good for those "in the know" who have been around for a while, but to new users it does look very much like bullying at best......

Have a look back at the recent posts and then read the immediate replies, doesn't really make good reading

I played 'military golf' today. Normally I pride myself with going more or less straight down the middle, but today most of my shots went either left or right, more or less at random. Struggled to only 27 points!

You should be OK at Tidworth - plenty of soldiers there to keep you company. Mind you there's plenty of ordnance nearby so avoid the rough.

There have been a lot of pretty pointless threads on here recently. Obviously in someone's brain they warrant a thread but in a lot of other brains people think a quick Google search would have provided the required information.

I'm all for helping someone out but I don't see why I should do their research for them.

Others use the forum to be smug, pedantic know it alls.

I hope DelC keeps posting, he makes me laugh. Long may he string people along :)

It happens Delc. Winter golf and all that. If I shot 27 on pristine greens and a well presented, running course then I'd be pretty cheesed. For now I'm still gratful to be getting out on a fully opened course and playing

Some amusing posts in the thread

Made me giggle

Porn Golf

Don't remember being on many fairways!

Not 'bad enough to be Ok' then! Nothing wrong with playing the shot into 1st green from the 2nd fairway - or vice-versa, but harder to achieve! A couple of other pairs of 'wrong' fairway can be favourable too!

My golf wasn't so bad that I was straying onto other fairways, but I did have far more 2nd shots from the rough adjacent to the correct fairway than normal! :(

Pleased to report that normal service was resumed this morning and I was hitting the ball pretty straight again. Don't know what went wrong yesterday, but that's golf I suppose! :mmm:

Thanks for the update Delc, lunch will taste much better now
