Mike Ashley

And given he already bends the rules to do the minimum for his employees and fill them with fear of losing their work, wouldn't the likes of Ashley just love it were the pesky EU not in his hair (what little he has) setting out various workplace and health & safety directives...

And they say it wouldn't happen were we out. Wanna bet!

So as Mike Asley treating his staff badly it's a case for Scottish independence.

"That’s how the United Kingdom works. That’s why we need to get out of it. I want to live in a land where all of us have an equal right to dignity and equal access to it. Indyref2 can’t come soon enough."

And as part of this story it drags in Tony Blair (a Scotsman) knighting Fred Goodwin (a Scotsman) who needed his bank bailing out by the government which had Gordon Brown (a Scotsman - anyone else seeing a theme here) as Prime Minister at that time.

Yep I can absolutely see how things would be better in an independent Scotland. Better for the rest of the UK if you took all these people with you when you leave.

Unfortunately the recent story of Mike Ashley mistreating his employees only just scratches the surface.
The sports direct factory is built in Shirebrook which was part of the coalfield regeneration, jobs for miners who lost there jobs. That turned out well didn't it.
The village of Shirebrook is a dump compared to what it was. The workers that are employed at the sports direct factory live in squalid conditions. A pal rented his house out to three guys, inside a month 10 were living there. Five on days, five on nights. The neighbours were going mental. Eventually the police came in and caved his front door in. He was not a happy bunny.
A local girl was raped in Shirebrook a couple of months ago by a migrant worker, the police initially refused to name him or his nationality because it would inflame tensions in the community.
It is not a pleasant place to live since Mr Ashley turned up.
To the people who have resided in shirebrook for generations, that is part of the story they would like to be told.

"I didn't know people have been being treated disgracefully as if they are working in some squalid Dickensian workhouse. Honest mate, you can trust me."

Yes you did and no we can't.

Perfectly odious.

When the warehouse first opened up the area was buzzing at the thought of all the employment. Soon went pear shaped when they realised what wages were being paid.

Sympotomatic of the willingful exploitation of the disadvantaged and those in desperate need.

I honestly don't know how some of these evil people can sleep in their beds at night after being party to such odious practices.

You can only hope against hope that the old adage of "what goes around comes around" might just somehow come home to roost either in this or the afterlife.

You seem to be confused....... the three Scotsmen you mentioned are all unionists and you appear to be supporting a case for independence.
