Might be going back to Crowborough Beacon!!

I bet the full members are happy with that deal, especially those who live 14 miles away. Not knowing that part of the world, how long would 15 miles take you??Over half an hour?? Great deal for you,is this a new membership category Smiffy?
The membership category has been advertised for some time Dodge, but I didn't really take much notice of it until recently. I live a good 30 miles away from the course, it will take me about 50 minutes to get there each time but it is worth it. I have been playing a lot of my golf recently at either East Brighton or Lindfield which are both an hour away so it's no big deal to be honest.

Last time I went there I google mapped it. One hour forty. Cool, so if I leave three hours early, I'll be fine, and can have a pre game nosh up. Nope. It took four hours. Arrived late. Proper late. Next time I'll sleep in the car park.

Unlimited golf means unlimited golf, with tee times able to be booked up to a month in advance via their on-line booking system.
I would be treated exactly the same as a full playing member, I wouldn't be given a different coloured bag tag, and nobody else would even know I am a "County" member unless I chose to tell them.
I can enter all competitions with no restrictions, along with club matches (if picked!).[/QUOTE]

Blimey Rob, I'm even thinking of looking into it, sounds a cracking deal. It takes me 40 minuites to get to my present club so if it's not much more than an hour away it is tempting. I'll be booking a tee time soon to check the course out.

I know yourself and lots of others speak very highly of it but need to check out logistics etc and weigh up whether it can be doable.

PS Why can't I get the quote in the box as Dodgers quote is, what am I doing wrong?

Smiffy that looks a great course, reminds me a bit of Wentworth:thup:

An hour to get to a course you love is a no-brainer, I'm 1hr 5 mins to mine but when you're there it's worth it.

That price is a steal as well, you'd be the victim of a cruel medical experiment if you pass this up:rolleyes:

Great deal Smiffy. Sounds like you are oozing golfing mojo. A decent test will sort your game out too as you'll feel up for it, can enter comps whenever you want and play with better players and on a better test. Shame as I was going to offer to play you for £10 at Woburn but not now

Thanks mate, although good old Bobmac has already PM'd me with the fix.

PS See, done it, I'm not really that stoopid!

Bob loves a PM. It took me about 4 edits to get it right. I don't want to be in the dog house, so back on thread. Top course, nice views and a nice girl behind the bar when I played!!

Do you ever play in the "Rabbits" Jezz??? I used to love playing in that every week, especially when they have the Rabbit suppers. Bill Burns Begg used to run it, don't know if he is still around??? It was a long time ago.

Very rarely, Smiffy - pretty limited midweek golf for me up there, but have been known to play the odd Rabbits here and there when the diary allows

I'm not averse to sneaking up and plastering large A3 laminated signs all over the noticeboards and tee reservations boards - "Achtung! Smiffy is a 'County' member" - or similar... *

Seriously though, if you do go for it, we'll get a game in up there some time this spring/summer

* suddenly remembers he's actually only a 'flexible' member himself...

congrats smiffy, just surprised it took you so long.
played it for the first time last year, very impressed, greens were a bit firm and may need some attention
looking forward to this years match, hopefully you may be there

I looked at this last year. I live 12 miles away:( I wonder if they would care if I 'took the long way around'!

brilliant course...you've got to really. And you have another volunteer for a knock around once you're there.
Well just to keep you updated....I am going up on Wednesday with my completed application form and cheque and I'm in....hopefully I will be able to play in the Rabbits competition same day! And of course you are welcome to come up for a game Sandy. How's the handicap going by the way??? Rob
