Are players allowed to reveal their PGA ban? I know the tour don't usually reveal it.
Could Phil playing the Masters inadvertently reveal he's not on a break /actually banned?

I very much doubt it. But speculation/conspiracy theories will doubtless still circulate.

I really don't care if Phil plays The Masters or not. I assume, like many others, that he is on a ban, or at least a voluntary sabbatical agreed with the PGA Tour, but this business of revealing on a drip by drip basis if he will be at the next event is not a good strategy. He would be better off just staying schtum, working on his game and his fitness, maybe getting a new look (that gangster look isn't cool) and coming back when the ban is over.

I doubt very much that it's Phil that is 'revealing on a drip by drip basis if he will be at the next event'! I think he is just saying schtum and it's the Golf Press etc that are randomly postulating on his state that makes it seem like a drip by drip basis.
