Cricket, unfortunately has gone the same was as football. The players cheat (from all countries) and try to get away with it. "Banter" as you call it is one thing, saying your going to break someone's arm, is hardly that. England are not innocent mind you. Im sure they give as good as they get. The class has unfortunately gone out of the game.
 
Junior has a valid point with it being the Skipper who said it...


BiM it is an acceptable form of the game though maybe taken a but far with the threat of a broken arm but I am sure if you look hard enough you will find video of Anderson trying to hit a batsman he just didnt warn them first! Look at the video I posted that was only a brief clip Donald was trying to injure Atherton no to ways about it.
 
Big deal about nothing imo.

Intimidation is part of a lot of sports and loads of people use it. Things are a bit different when you are in a sporting arena even though things can get a bit distasteful.

Trying to get under your oppositions skin and put them off their game by saying things to them......can be jovial, can be micky taking, can be abusive, can be aggressive, can include your mother.

He is a professional sportsman.

The comment about his position in the world rankings was to highlight my point that Clarke opened his mouth agains one of the best bowlers in the world.

I took it that you were suggesting that they should take it easy on poor little Jimmy.... did you feel sorry for Malcolm or Tuffers when they were stood on the square leg umpire?
 
Who whines about body line? It seems that Trott got a load of it according to reports. I think we should just take the pill and give it back with interest... You set your stall out, if this is how you want to play, don't complain when it you lose to your own strategy, so come on England step up and use the ball like a weapon.
