metal spikes or plastic discuss!!!!!

Good for you....
Genuinely glad you haven't slipped

Witty as well as unsteady on your feet, or foot
Not unsteady - I've seen people break ankles slipping down a wet slope

Our course bans metal spikes on the grounds (no pun intended) that a discarded spike could damage the mower blades. I have yet to slip and fall with soft spikes.

Don't say that, you will be "ridiculed" like me ;)

No ridicule from here - just stating my experience and opinion.

Softies for me. With rock solid fairways/greens and even bunkers, the smaller and softer the better for me.

What I have noticed though, in the colder months when we might be lucky enough to get a bit of dew or even frost on the course, the soft spikes leave indents in the green. Luckily once the temp rises a little bit the greens harden up again, and the indents disappear. It is annoying for the first few holes on an early start though.

I wouldn't ever want to play with metal spikes under my feet.
