Mens wrist watches

Tom Brady selling some of his collection here 😳
Of all the Rolex models, the Daytona would be the one I bought if i was going to have one.

Similar story, but lower budget, I bought this Longines for my 21st birthday in the early 1980s, 30 mm dial (34mm over case) 8 mm thick including the glass.

I very rarely wear mine these days either, special occasions only.

Got something similar for my 21st. A classiqe I think it's called. Don't know how to upload pictures but mine has a gold face and no date thingy.

Happy ending in this.
Took the watch to a small independent Jeweller in town during the week.
Said to leave it with them and they'd put it under their UV lamp to give it a boost and hey presto it's working again.
Cost = £5.

Hey chaps and chapettes, I may be on the hunt for a new watch but I need some guidance. I’ve had an Apple Watch Ultra for the last 2 years, great watch but I just don’t use any of the smart functions at all, seems a bit of a waste really so I may shift it on and get a normal watch. Looking at spending under £1000 so no Omegas etc 🤣
What would you recommend that’s not too old fashioned looking but also still sort of classical? Buy new or something second hand?

I will wait for the experts to chime in.. but i am in the same boat. Have had the Apple watch for the last 3 years.. I probably use 25% of it. But that meant my Tag and Citizen eco-drive has stayed in my drawer.
So I decided time was up and planned to go back to Tag. Since I still want to do a bit of exercise, I am going for the Ultrahuman Air ring.

.. so i thought. Then my BIL gave me a new Apple Watch for Christmas!! Doh..

With this brief, I’d say “micro” brands is a way to go. Here is a few recommendations that I have personal experience with.
——-

The one and only https://www.timefactors.com/ — shows what a single dedicated man can do!

Lots of models to choose from + top quality and accessible pricing.

Some history: https://medium.com/@stabimobilism/eddie-platts-and-the-dreadnought-saga-805519bf01ec

https://www.christopherward.com/home — snubbed by some, but have built a brand from nothing too, while still maintaining reasonable pricing (unlike some more “premium” endeavours, ahem Bremont).

Beyond that I can also recommend a German company: https://www.steinhartwatches.de/en

Hope it helps 🙃

I've always wanted a Tag, not sure why, maybe because I think they look really cool 😎
I used to to have a Tissot back in the early 90s, no idea what happened to that watch.

Not really thought too much about it to he honest just nothing old fashioned looking, I do like those funky looking Swatch/Omega Moonwatch things but you can't buy them for love nor money.
That’s the watch I have. It’s gorgeous. Old fashioned windy up type. They have made the watch box smaller. Mine is the size of a shoe box.
Sorry mine is just the Omega Mood watch. Not the swatch one.

I'm biased because I've got one that I love, but another vote for Christopher Ward from me. British company, Swiss automatic movements and you're mostly paying for the watch manufacture rather than brand advertising.
