Mens wrist watches

Fancy a new watch for my upcoming 60th. Have been browsing Chrono24 and against many prices it says "negotiable".

Now...I understand what the word "negotiable" means but its a new concept in shopping (unless you are in a Turkish Bazaar or Tunisian Souk) for me where the seller is willing to sell the item at a different (presumably lower) price to the one advertised.

So...is negotiation on price really common and how flexible are sellers on price usually?

What watches are you looking at?
Luxury watches are as they say, a massive luxury in the current climate, many companies probably would negotiate if it meant a sale.

If it says it, what do you have to lose?

Set yourself a maximum, go in lower and the haggle (negotiate). You'll tend to find out pretty quickly where they will sell.

You could ask them straight out, what is your best price, then bid them a grand less - different tactic.

Personally, I don't want to make friends with the seller, so it's all about me securing at the lowest possible price.

But, if the price you negotiate is miles away from recent sales prices, a scam could be headed your way...

I've got a hankering for something different, not extreme in the watch world but something a little less obvious than some brands folk might consider.

Something like this...

I like a Seiko automatic.
I’m biased, but Christopher Ward do some really nice conservatively styled watches just under the £1000 mark. British company but Swiss made.

So on Monday Mr and Missis Tash had a lovely drive out to Bakewell, like loads of other old fossils holding hands looking at rammel in the windows. Missis T got some bargains, I got an empty wallet. I think guilt hit Missis T so she suggested we call into Chesterfield on the way back so we could have a look in a once fave shop of mine, which is closing down because it is now rammel.
Anyway whilst ambling around Chesterfield we passed an old Jewellers and they were selling good watches second hand. By that I mean Omega, Rolex etc etc. but one thing turned me off straight away. Most of the watches for sale said “ watch only”. 😳 What. I mean why would you spend above 6 and 7 k without the box and certification. Now don’t get me wrong someone may have “ lost” them, but my first thoughts were some thieving git has pawned them. There’s no way am spending that much with a bill of sale.

Agree completely, but watches are one of those things we keep the box. Everything else, we chuck in the recycling. Papers a different matter of course. But why do we actually keep the boxes?

I keep boxes for everything, as sad as that is.
