Membership in north west is expensive!

It was Sunday to Friday - i took this option due to playing football on a Saturday's so it was perfect for me! However i might want a full membership next year which takes the cost up.
 
There are some very expensive clubs in Scotland too, but they tend to be exclusive. Generally speaking, golf in Scotland has always been a working man's sport without the snobbery which seems to be associated with golf clubs down south. The courses mentioned by the OP, Linlithgow and Muckhart, are not the best courses within the immediate area, so tend to be less expensive to play.
Incidentally, Muckhart is only 12 miles away from G West Golf course which is perhaps the most expensive course in the UK where the annual membership is £6,000!

linlithgow was ok but loved Muckhart and if not the best course would love to,play some if the better ones!

the G West course looks fantastic but £6,000 really?

Around here £750 seems about the average for a pretty good course/club.

Mind you Scotland does have a lot of courses, so I guess supply and demand helps keep the prices reasonable.
 
i thought the most expensive was the one were SANDY LYLE had something to do with i think it went bust but was bought by a saudi family but could be wrong,that gwest looks very nice but the could have bought statues with arms and legs for what you pay.
 
In a 3 mile radius (Woolton,Childwall,Lee Park,West Derby,Huyton&Prescot) all of them are around the same price £1k maybe £100 difference between them all.

Unfortunately thats what you pay for inner city golf i suppose.

I suspect the most expensive clubs are the ones where the annual running cost is calculated and the member is then billed for his share. I believe Queenwood is expensive too.

How much do you reckon Brocket hall is? The website doesnt say, but not cheap id think
 
There is good value golf membership in the North West..Like most things, depends what you prefer, in regard of facillities, course quality friendliness of club etc...Golfers for courses so to speak...I pay about £550 all in , comps Saturday and Sunday.Where do you play?

You need to row your own boat on that one, I have played it quite a few times thankfully I have never paid a green fee as its always been in a match. I played it a few weeks ago on a Saturday, packed with day tickets, the round was woefully slow and the course was imo scruffy in parts.

It never has and never will be a favourite of mine but others like it, I suggest you try it for yourself as I am nothing but a grumpy old man :thup:
