If it's not a silly question which is the 6th day?!
Incidentally, Muckhart is only 12 miles away from G West Golf course which is perhaps the most expensive course in the UK where the annual membership is £6,000!

There are some very expensive clubs in Scotland too, but they tend to be exclusive. Generally speaking, golf in Scotland has always been a working man's sport without the snobbery which seems to be associated with golf clubs down south. The courses mentioned by the OP, Linlithgow and Muckhart, are not the best courses within the immediate area, so tend to be less expensive to play.

Around here you will struggle to find anything less than £1000

I suspect the most expensive clubs are the ones where the annual running cost is calculated and the member is then billed for his share. I believe Queenwood is expensive too.
How much do you reckon Brocket hall is? The website doesnt say, but not cheap id think
I believe its between £2-3K, the best part of Brocket is the practice facility !!
Less than id thought, is it not worth playing then?

Wales is pretty reasonable, £650 for my stunning links www.tenbygolf.co.uk and some other good memberships options.
£1400 that's a big dent per month esp over the winter
